i think themes would be good and it gives us an excuse to go out hunting around in the zeds rather than just taking it to known spots

definitely, love the idea of a theme... will create more interesting shots...
Like the reflections one, but save it for a month when I can afford a bit of swirl removal, clay, wax etc etc etc

I like themes.....humour would IMO really start the creativity.

I still say photoshop shouldn't be allowed. Of course now that I bought my Nikon D5000, I'm itching to reenter the competitions.

Only 37 votes so far with almost half of the votes split between "No Theme" and "Reflections"...
More participation will be needed in this poll to reach any decision for a theme.

A much larger percentage going for one of the Themes than not at all. I am pleased to see this.
I do think it will bring a bit more "Competition" to the Contest

Damn, I have the ideal spot for a reflections themed shot, but the last (and only) time I used it I almost got arrested! Shame as it was ideal. I've voted no theme as reflections would be pretty difficult up here: near enough impossible to drive the Z4 anywhere without it getting dirty. We don't have dry roads up here very often :roll:

Still some time left to vote...
It would seem that about 80% of you so far would like to see a theme of some kind.
I am inclined to rule out the following as this point:
In Motion - Either requires someone else to drive your car or expensive (In some cases) remote equipment.
Sporting - Only one vote so far.
Black & White - Personally I like B&W but that either requires high end cameras or photo software and this IMO would favor the pros.
Travel & love I won't rule out at this point but a little more support will be needed.

I'm a day late starting the June contest because the internet where I was yesterday was down.

So to the June contest will be as before and this will give everyone some time to thing about the photo they want to create for the July which will have the theme of "Reflections".

You can submit a photo without reflections and the voters will decide.
Actually almost all photos have a few reflections in them anyway.
