Daughter just got home from work and told me my drivers door wasn't closed properly.
Went outside and found contents of glovebox ,cubby and armrest strewn across the inside of the car.
Only thing missing is a coin dispenser I keep in the cubby with about £20 of change in.
The car was parked on my drive and I haven't left home all day today....guess it happened during the night.

I've contacted the police and suggested to them that I probably didn't lock the car yesterday evening. I remember the wife and I getting stuff out of the boot and I guess I didn't go back and lock it.
They've told me they are aware of thieves using "Grabbers" in the area, suggesting that not everyone is forgetting to lock their doors and not to beat myself up about it.
No other thefts reported in or around the area so just hoping it was an opportunist.

Oh well....sh*t happens. :)

Glad to hear that was all that went missing. Never a nice thought though that someone had the nerve to do it in the first place.

Not nice, but consider yourself lucky that it was just a few quid and if they did get in, that they opened the door and not slashed the roof or kicked the door in frustration at trying.

Yeah sounds lucky it wasn't worse. Interesting tho. If you lean in can you unlock the door? For many many years fords have had a feature that if you've deadlocked the door it can't be opened. The only way to get in was smash the window and wriggle in.

Long time ago when I was living in an Apt Building ..
My friend's Dad had a Porsche 356 that he parked in the underground and he never locked it.
He always kept coins in his ash tray.
His plan was that if someone wants in ..
Leave the door unlocked so he doesn't destroy the exterior.
Keep something inside ..so the thief doesn't vandalize it out of frustration.

As far as I can remember it worked for him.

Lol... I did just chuckle... At least when you now drive it'll be a lot quieter without £20 of change jangling about!! That's loads!!

The nerve... But i cant believe you had £20 of change in there.

Gutting, but lucky no damage. Years ago when I had a series of Triumph convertibles the rule of thumb was never lock the doors! If someone wanted to get in they would, and you'd have an expensive slashed roof to replace if you locked it.

Just been to the car.......didn't realise yesterday but my IPOD connected to the Intravee has gone as well. :(
