The Zed Shed on video!

I was watching a car buyer on YouTube, and he had bought a Z4 2.5 for £1000. He took it to the ZED Shed for an inspection, 20 minutes, and he certainly has an in-depth knowledge of the Z4

Thats quite an old episode, if you do some research on here you will find quite a few disgruntled customers and reports of County Court cases against this company, also research Companies House. Despite many posts on Facebook praising their performance just remember he is blacklisted on this Forum. The Zedshed name was lifted from the original Zedshed run by enthusiasts down in Basingstoke which is not a business as are the other Zedsheds run by enthusiast groups across the UK.

A few of the Z4 Facebook groups appears to be fronts for them as well. Almost every request for help will elicit a "take it to the ZedShed" post.

Presumably the Zedshed in Lincoln, run by Tony, has ceased since he passed away?
It is confusing having the 'enthusiast run' Zedsheds and the business, run by that Mike bloke, with the same names.
Why don't you and Lee in Basingstoke (and any others) call yourselves "the real zedshed", or something similar to differentiate yourselves from that other chap? Especially as he has a less-than-perfect reputation.

Why should Lee change the name of his outfit to differentiate it from an another outfit that stole the original name. Having met Lee a few times, I suspect he couldn’t give a monkeys.

A lot of it comes down to organisation and communication. Hes busy and that is not his strength.

Ive been trying to get my car in (mainly because i live round the corner and he has done it a few times) to install ISOFIX and airbag deactivation for about a year and the coms are super sporadic.

Although when I finally spoke to him I asked if it could be done to look OE essetially drill the carbon leather and install the deactivation switch and he was wasnt so keen. Understandably, I suppose, in case it it damaged beyond repair. So not sure what the best thing is to do at this point.

I would have a go but I know if I take the car apart it will never go back together again.

Ive not used Mike at Z Shed Warrington as yet - but have communicated many times by email and he's called me back promptly on occasion. Always found him friendly and very knowledgeable. Planning to get a few jobs done with him in the next 4-6 weeks but not expecting any drama from my experience so far.

Is this the guy who was called ducklakeview?

I used him with my z4 (a long time ago) and was happy with the service. Why is he banned?

We named our Welsh Zedshed 'Zedshed Cymru' so people can see who and where we are and have no connection to the Warrington outfit. Its a Closed Group, membership is by invitation only and operates on Whats App, we steer clear of the Facebook Groups. Members get picked up from this Forum and the zroadster.org forum and word of mouth from our members.

Yes, Ducklakeview, that's the one. If I rememeber rightly, his thumbnail was a sort of a semi transparent diagram of a Z4

Read colb's thread further up!

Before he had premises he replaced the rear brake pipes on my previous E86 in 2017 in his garage for £100! He seems very knowledgeable and did a good job, but he was still on the school run when I arrived at the agreed time so I had to sit there for half an hour or so, and it took all day, interrupted by the home time school run.

There was a thread on here about the Court Case concerning his mail order service for modified back-boxes. Someone paid for one that never arrived and Mike basically ignored him until he caved in outside the Court. So he got banned.

He rejoined briefly with a different user name, until the next f*ck-up, and hasn't been seen on here since AFAIK.

Shame really, but I'd go somewhere else even if it cost a bit more!
