The Zed is Back (Pictures)

The Story goes something like this..

I had this Zed for 18 months and made the mistake/regret of selling her! I almost traded her in part exchange as I opted for an SLK55 AMG, however decided she was too dam good for the trade! Due to a change in circumstances the SLK55 soon went & I was itching to get back into a Z4.

I made contact with Alan (Number 5 on here) who bought my Zed from me, he sold her on to another member on here quite swiftly. Anyway, I went Covert and managed to track down the new owner! I emailed him and somehow persuaded him to sell the old girl back to me! I paid top dollar but I wanted this Zed back at all costs!

She is going in for an Inspection 2 service tomorrow & getting the Gaptech sorted.

It's great to be back, here are some pictures, apologies about the other half being in the car, she was watching Taken 3 on the Tv and seems to get her mug on all my pictures!

Welcome back. That makes a few of you that have bought the same car back.

Cheers, I almost bought another but so pleased to get mine back! Sentimental reasons and knowing how much love & effort I put into her before! She is going nowhere now!

This is a great story, you must have been very persuasive to buy it back from the new owner, I can't imagine how you manage it :o Anyway well done
great lookin motor btw

Luckily for me he was wanting to get cash for a house, it still needed some gentle persuasion though!

I shall not make the mistake of letting her go again!

Yup, we should have a club! Although I sold mine again, so guessing I couldn't join anyway!

no amount of money from my previous owner would tempt me to sell back, you must have been very persuasive :poke:

welcome back to the Z world :D

The problem I faced was I originally sold the Zed in the Winter so didn't get a fantastic price. Alan sold her for a tidy profit in the right season and I had to pay top dollar to get her back. Better the devil you know though I guess

glad it worked out for you

for me it would be like having an ex back after she'd ......... well i'm sure you get what i mean lol

I'm really pleased that Paul managed to get it back and that I was able to help. He did say " if you ever sell it, let me know" but I didnt think he was serious !

I did intend to keep it as an upgrade from my 2.5, but then when I spotted Jamie T's silver Alpina for sale fairly locally, I knew the situation was completely out of my control and there was only one way everythingnwas heading ! I managed to sell the 3.0 Pauls car within 5 days and my 2.5 within the month.

As regards the 'profit', I did put a fair few hours in during the winter evenings, cutting and polishing, swapping the TV out from Analogue to Digital to getting it working, clearing the roof drains as it had been outdoors, painting the hubs and callipers, etc. also as Paul said, it was a last minute winter trade rescue and then an early Spring sale, so fairs fair !

Also, I beleive the interim owner also added cruise control, so Paul got back a car with a few added bonuses !

A happy ending and hopefully a new recruit for our BBC (Bristol, Bath & Cardiff ! ) Hooning Crew !

Nice! What springs have you got on it, it looks low?

Eibachs! These were done by a previous owner a good few years ago! I absolutely love the look, in my opinion the e85 needs to be lowered

That thought is spot on! I have thought exactly the same, although I feel like I'm the cheat after letting her go! It's a romantic ending, feels a bit like the film "Indecent Proposal" :D

Alan is spot on, when I said to him give me 1st shout if you decide to sell her, I was hoping he would keep her for more than 3 days lol :D
However, if I'm honest the SLK55 AMG was an absolute beast and awesome thing but I actually prefer the looks of the z4 and a lot of blood sweat & tears went into this Zed. Alan also put in some sweat as you can see by the pictures and I'm so chuffed he sorted the TV as I had all but given up trying to get that to work at one point!
The TV, the cruise control are a nice bonus and today I will also have the Gaptech sorted also.
I'm very lucky in that the x2 owners who had this car looked after it so well. If it had gone to 19 year old spotty teenager covered in tattoos I'm not so sure I would have brought the old girl home!
