The zed booked in for paint :-)

After having the Zed for around 5 weeks getting to know it, I've done some bits to start the mini resto, namely
Headlight lenses polished
Roof mech/hinges/fasteners greased and cleaned so it opens fully
Most of the paint detailed with progressive grades of cutting compound
Interior deep cleaned ( was fine tbf, but gave it a good detail)
Exhaust tips polished
Detailed engine bay
MOT'd ( passed, no advisories )

The paint that I didn't detail is where there is some imperfections. The front bumper is peppered with paint chips and has some lacquer peel, the front wing as some rust on the arch and the rear bumper has some lacquer peel. The car is going into the body shop on Monday to have all this corrected so it'll be A1. There is also a few little dings (supermarket trolleys most likely) which PDR will sort no problem.
Next will be the wheel refurb, which will probably be when I get the car back from the bodyshop. And a new central brake light fitted. Also the roof will be recoloured and re-proofed.

I'll get some pics up when done so the previous owner Geoff can see her being taken care of. I've been enjoying the car as it is, lovely to drive and a bloody bargain!!

You know the rules.

True, but I imagine the OP wants to post "after" photos so his car looks at its best!

Although "before" and "after" can be very useful too.

Nice! Looking forward to the pictures. I’m hoping to do the same to mine next week. Now that I’ve eventually finished tinkering with the mechanicals I’m going to get the aesthetics sorted out. My front bumper is in desperate need of a refurb.

Pics please! Sending mine into the body shop in September. Past owner hooked up a 'bike rack' on the truck lid and chipped the paint plus a small ding.
Rack straps did a number on the rear quarters aswell. Already changed out the 3rd brake light which was cracked. Anxious to get the rich Merlot colour back on the back half at least.

OP do you mind sharing cost and location? I've been gathering quotes for both a front-end respray and a full respray here in London and the numbers are ludicrous

Would be interested to hear some quotes as well, currently getting ~£400 for front bumper respray.

It's a guy I've used a few times before, mates rates now 👍
Bumper off, sanded & paint
Rear bumper smart repair to both sides due to lacquer peel and painted
Front wing rust repair and paint
Wirral area, the car got dropped off this afternoon. and the cost??

£340

Good job; I'm guessing it's his business rather than a hobby? If so mind sharing the name so I could contact him? Mine needs the front-end, passenger side sill and rear wing looked at and I'm getting quoted well into 4 figures down here.
