...darling, I'd really rather you take me for in a ride in your plane! I get far too many thrills in vehicles...take me for a flight? :cpilot:

Sure, someday. I don't own my own plane yet.

6 flags is teh bestest.
As far as 4th gear goes, I know that when i reach my general cruising speed of 70-75mph when entering a highway i'm still in 4th....somewheres around 4 or 5 grand rpm, but i'm not paying strict attention to that as i'm gauging traffic to see if I need to accelerate hard and merge or brake and merge.

Suffice to say the Z get driven quite hard when I get on an on-ramp. But then any vehicle I drive does. I dump all the gas in the engine in an effort to get to that magic 70mph range before I have to merge.

Your in 4th already at 75? :poke: I don't shift to 4th until 80 on on-ramps around here, after the rev limiter has slowed my acceleration in 3rd.

Yeah you got a point. I guess it depends on my mood. Today I was feeling like an indy driver so yeah i was in 3rd around 75mph.

I did some spirited driving yesterday at my local track for about a half dozen laps during the lunch break but I a) switched off the traction control system entirely, and b) never bothered looking at the speedometer - just the tach and the redline.

It's nice when you don't have to care how fast you are going - just drive at the limits of control. It's even better when you have to whole track to yourself too :yeah:

I'm waiting for that experience. So I must question...

Where do I look on a tracks website to find out when they are open (for a price i'm sure) for you to drive your car on?

Check with your local car clubs (BMW, Audi, Porsche, etc). All of them run what are called High Performance Driver Events at tracks all over the place and most clubs (except for Audi) will accept owners of other brands of cars at their events without you being a member of their club. All have instructors for novice drivers that can get you started in track driving.

i always take the first level off. i use to leave it all on but after my wheel alignment, all hell broke loose with it fully on. the yellow light comes on more frequently this way as it tends to let the car slide slightly before deciding to pull it back
