The World Cup exit

Go on then I'll mention it. What happened to En-ger-land this year?

Being Scottish I am well used to bad times, but at least Scotland usually play equal or more than the sum of our parts ie. crap players and only midly crap performances with some good performances thrown in for good measure.

The English players always seem to fail on the big stage. Very puzzling :scratchhead:

It can be put down to a number of factors I reckon.

a) players being played out of their natural positions.
b) a manager that clearly struggles with the English language causing boundaries.
c) the players lack of national pride in playing for their country. England the only team I have seen so far that didn't look that dejected in being knocked out.
d) the distraction in being away from home for 2 weeks fully paid and working out what ferraris/rolexes etc to spend their 2 weeks unjustified club wages (prob £200k per player) on upon return.
e) media hype. England have a good team that had a decent chance. The media made it seem as though the rest of the world were tremoring in their wake which tbh was always far from the truth.

Looking at the second game today I'm just glad they got away with playing Germany.

mmm, manager who can't speak English (ok, could say that about Rooney too), 4-4-2 formation tried... failed... failed... failed...etc... Rooney not on form yet played every game... Gerrard played out of position all the time and Rooney playing off a forward instead of by himself as he is used to. Catalogue of errors to be honest, could not have been worse.

Give it 2 weeks of the papers bleeting about the loss then they will be reporting on how we are going to win the next World Cup.... Thing is, you can bet your life we will be still playing Heskey, who proved he was crap 8 years ago!!!!

<off to have a glass of wine!> (or should that be a glass of whine!? ;) >

Guy walks into a brothel and says "How much for total Humiliation"? Madam Says "£37.50". Guy says "What do I get for That"? Madam says
"An England football shirt"!

All spot on mate........yet I just can't help wondering what the outcome would have been if Lamps's goal had stood :fuelfire:

All future televised En_ga_land matches have been moved to the gay adult channel as the sight of 11 arseholes gettin hammered for 90 mins
was far too explicit for the BBC!

English players look good in the premier league for one reason they are playing with vastly superior footballers that are all non english ! as for Capello if you had been in a country for over 2 yrs and earned 6million would you think it would be too much to ask to spend a few quid on language tuition ! England are a joke !

The south african police have issued a statement saying shop lifting and drug dealing has been halved now that england are out and john terrys parents are going home !

Sorry about England's loss, I am split on the subject having lived most of my life in Canada. I guess I am still German deep down and love soccer as much as the next guy. I do agree the English team was just not up for the task this time around, will be in 2014 when there be a new English coach and younger players.

Any prediction for the Germany : Argentine Match on Saturday next? I think it will be a shoot out, what say you?

Don't mind my jubilation over here I cannot help myself, now that the Webmaster told me how to post a picture :) you might say the devil made me do it (saw an English flag someplace on the forum, so had to try it out ... Thanks Bill).

I have to agree with that .... spot on .... goals make all the difference and keep the spirit and willpower alive, I can attest to that having played the game for 30 some years :)

FIFA refused to introduce technology to football.

It should have been there this year and yes the score should have been 2:2 at half time. Instant re-play will be there in 2014 take my word for it. :)

Lots of talk on the TV about this, but before the game, position for position, who would England have swapped out?

Miroslav "6 domestic goals this season" Klose has now hit 50 in 99 games and
Lukas "3 domestic goals this season" Podolski is on 41 from 78.

On the other hand, Rooney has been on fire all season, he is usually a bit of a porker but he looked really out of condition.

Yep, that disallowed goal decision makes a mockery of football IMO. Seb Blatter's comments after the game (basically said the decision would still rest with the ref) was a joke too, doesn't seem to live in the real world: technology like this is good enough for other sports (e.g. rugby) so why not football?

The game would've progressed very differently if that goal had stood. And I'm saying that as an impartial observer (plus I'm Scottish ). It would've been interesting to see if Engerlund would have staged a comeback...

However, my dad does say that incorrectly disallowed goal makes up for the incorrectly allowed goal in 1966...

couldnt have summed it up better! what a bunch of overpaid wankers. especially John Terry.

Couple of questions:

1. How does an entire sport end up being pretty much run by one man (same in Formula 1!!)
2. How do we end up paying a manager several times more than his next rival?
