The window motor only spins in one direction HELP!

Hello, I bought my Z4 with a non-working window. I thought replacing the regulator would fix everything, but it turned out that the motor in the door only spins in one direction — as if I were trying to close the window — regardless of whether I press up or down. What could be the issue? Could it be something wrong with the GM5 module? How can I diagnose the problem?

I had this problem and it turned out to be the window switch on the door. They can be pulled out, taken apart and cleaned up. Mine got some coffee spilt in it from being clumsy and made the contact mucky..

How can I check if the switch is the problem? Tomorrow I’ll send photos of the disassembled switch with the circuit board.

Today, while trying to figure out the solution, I disassembled the entire switch and noticed limescale deposits, as if it had previously been exposed to water. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, but unfortunately that didn’t help.

Tomorrow I’ll try again, but this time I’ll be more thorough with the cleaning.

I used a small piece of fine wet or dry (dry of course)
Hello, can someone tell me something about this circuit board? Is there something wrong with it? It seems to me that it has been exposed to water. Even after thoroughly cleaning the switch, it still only makes the motor run in one direction. However, I tested the plug that connects to the window controller directly, and guess what? The motor works perfectly in both directions. So the culprit is clearly the faulty switch — the board must be damaged.

Tomorrow I’m ordering a new window control panel.

Thank you, Mikey, for your help 😜

The board looks ok but hard to tell

The pins looks the worst hit corrosion wise
