Maybe not what some of you were hoping to see but my wife treated herself to a new car today, traded in her mini cooper countryman sd for a 218iM. e99e91a8d0814a5099ce850fe186f222.jpg
Nice and tidy but I cant help thinking it would look better with black wheels.

Funnily enough, my missus has a white 220D convertible. Had one on a lease and liked it so much she swapped it for another identical one.
They are quite nice cruisers, and with the wind deflector in place, you can drive all day on the motorway in comfort.

It's now near the end of this second lease and she wants a 4-door runabout for the grandkids, but hated parting with the soft top.
So we have gone the other way, and bought her a 2004 Z4 2.5i auto.
 
Looks really smart. I love soft tops. There’s nothing like driving with the top down on a sunny day. :thumbsup:

I was quite impressed with it really, only a 1.5 but she doesnt drive like a loon anyway.
We've got 2 teenage boys so legspace in the back was a must. She used to have a convertible mini and the backseats were pretty much unusable.The only other criteria was a decent stereo and heated seats. I'll have a look for a wind deflector, do they fit in the boot when not in use or is it a store in the garage job?
 
They cover the back seat at window level, then a separate part folds up to make the wind break behind the front seats.
With the wind break bit folded flat, the whole thing then folds in half and goes in a bag in the boot.
You should have mounting holes in the tops of the side panels to locate it?
Not sure what BMW would charge you for one but really worth having. Without it you'll find anything light left on the back seat will be sucked up and away!
 
I drove one of those as a service loan car

I have to say I was quietly impressed by it, the 3cyl 1.5 is actually quite nice and pokier than you’d expect

So it’s a :thumbsup: from me :)

The reports yesterday said sunny this weekend, now its changed to rain both days, typical!
 
Nice I used to own a 220d convertible and only got rid of it when we needed better access for grandson’s car seat

Yes especially as both myself and swmbo are not as flexible as we used to be :D

Just lob 'em on the back seat and put the wind deflector in place so they don't blow away. :rofl:

Yep, I love new car days, sadly I'm at work so my wife is going on her own. Weather isn't to good here in the north west today so I sont think she will be going topless!

Get her to ask about the wind deflector. Maybe there is one with it after all?
