I popped in to 'The Wheel Specialist' in St Albans earlier (on the way back from dropping car off for alignment :) ).

They said to refurb 4 x 18" CSL reps including removing and refitting tyres same day, they'd want £384 inc VAT.

Does that sound about right? Anyone tried them?

Same day ? Seems rushed to do a correct strip.
I used these guys. Took around 3 days but lent me wheels for the z4 to use. I was pleased with the Service.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually was thinking about getting a wrap on the roof and rear windows tinted too so may be that's a good way to go.

Sounds about right for 'the wheel specialist'.

Pretty sure they go for an immaculate 'as new' finish, whereas other companies for for a 'near enough new' finish i.e not 100% perfect.

My missus had one wheel refurbished for £65 from a wheel specialist franchise, but it was in Scotland.

I paid £285 for 4x18'' wheels from a company down here. Perfect on the faces, just a few small blemishes between the spokes.

:| You should have gone to http://www.rtecshop.com/shop/ in StAlbans
The longest running establishment in the country.
Its the evolution of RipSpeed (pre-halfords)

Sounds right for 'Wheel Specialist' quote. I also got same quote from them for their Farnborough location. I made my inquiry through their website. After waiting, i had one of their sales person chase me up on my thoughts and they offered me discount down to £350. So if you wait a bit longer or ask them, could probably barter it down to £350.

Yeah I've used them loads over the years as I know the owners. You get a lot of 'footballers type cars" but they will treat you the same if you went in with a battered up old Saxo, customers service is on point, and all the staff seem to have a vast knowledge of what products there selling unlike other places where it's just another sale.
