I am trying to find the website that shows the number of Z4s in the country that can be broken down based on colour, interior, transmission etc.

Help

I just want to say "many thanks", tonyz4c.
It is a fascinating site and must have taken you many hours to compile.

I wouldn't worry about that Tony!

I' just glad you compiled it and that it is still accessible - it must have taken you ages.

Although given your colour combinationI can understand why you would have been curious. From what I can make out there were none registered in the UK or France with that combo. :?

So thanks.

Iain.

I was just lucky to found a non protected vin decoder website,
so i have written a scrapper and get all data from them in a week-end
monday morning when they saw all these requests they have banned me :D
the last 3.0si missing were a bit tedious to retrieve ( vpn/ip => get x more, another vpn/ip get x more , ...)
it's the reason why there are only M and 3.0Si, otherwise i will have also retrieved all others models :P

Still a nice job. It's a fun site to play with every now and again.

That website only tracks 3.0si and M variants right?

Yes it does.

But that is nearly 4,500 cars, and getting the details from a VIN decoding website that's a pretty serious time commitment!

Which is probably why he stopped there. In any case there don't seem to be any free VIN decoders now. :(

I presume he is just using an Open API to pull the details, it shouldn't be that much work once it's set up.

As for decoder, I last used this, try it: https://bimmer.work/

If you know an open api that contains this kind of data, please provide it
The actual data was grabbed by software, doing this manually must be a nightmare :D
The problem with actual vin website it's that they ask for a captcha

And i have stopped there (m/3.0) because the opened vin decoder has put captcha/ip blocker
when they saw the amount of calls done during the week-end

Well for my part thank you for all your work mate its a valuable resource!

Wow, compliments on the site and depth of data! Didn’t know it before, and seems there are a grand total of 2 identically specced Tiefgrün manual coupes :o chances are slim then to spot another I guess..

Couldn't agree more - it must have been a labour of love!

Tiefgrun is definitely rare. In the 7+ years I have owned E86s I haven't actually seen one even at Z4 meets with 40 or more cars.

Strange to see my manual Ruby Black 3.0Si with Pearl Grey was one of 2 in the UK with Brushed Aluminium and my manual Montego Blue with Pearl Grey and Cirrus Aluminium was one of just 3, but my MC which sold in much lower numbers is one of 35 UK examples in Silver Grey with Imola Red and Carbon Leather.

I'm getting more common!

No wonder I have met 4 other owners with the same combination in the last couple of years.

Ruby Black is still such a good colour for the Z4. The dynamism of the paint really suits the flame surfaces and sharp angles of the design. Silver grey must have been a relatively "safe" choice at the time (even though it's still one of my favourites for the M), with Montego Blue really being a left-field option. Shame really, as the more striking colours just go really well with the Z4.

As for not having seen a Tiefgrün one; well I might have to join a meet sometime next year! It's a quick hop across the channel and I'd combine it with a family visit

Hi chaps! New to the forum having just purchased a 2.5si Roadster in Alpine White with blue leather. Do you know of any way to get build numbers for this particular combination?

I'd been looking for the right Z4 for some time and knew this was 'the one' as soon as I saw it (having never seen such an example before).

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

Sadly I don't know of any site with the details for other Z4 models.

As you'll see on the previous page tonyz4c who compiled it used a free vin decoder site (until they banned him) but I haven't been able to find a free vin decoder for quite a while.

Cool! For some reason they tend to pop up more in RHD than LHD. There was one for sale recently in Germany with an autobox and the M-interior. Nice find!
