Ah bless, that made me smile this morning, congratulations to you both.....seeing as you owe your Zed and thus the forum a debt of gratitude, do I need to buy a hat?

 The hat question was the first thing my step-mother asked

Thank you to everyone for all the messages of congratulations. The pic of me was the one on my avatar, slightly larger of course.

Ladies you do make me laugh, as I said, got enaged Sunday. The plan was to set a date for next year at our leisure. On Monday night I am told, the date is 8th March (make sure you are there), wedding dress has been chosen and venues researched! 8)

I am promised a nice pic of her posing with the Z that I will post asap when it is done so please be patient. No, it isn't a lady from this forum.

Probably not going to bother with the stag, just getting a bit jaded with so many.

Well I did promise an update.... :D

We got married on the 8th March down at the Carlton Hotel in Bournemouth. It was a great day and I really enjoyed it.

A couple of normal pics follow but sadly no Zed pics. A weather window opened briefly for a few pics in the gardens of the hotel but then it started pissing down again so we couldn't go back outside to where the Zed was parked ready. I have a promise though that the dress will be put back on again and a few pics taken in the sun.

Unexpectedly, the dress was made to measure in Thailand when were in Koh samui for 2 weeks. Saw some dress shops down a road that had wedding dresses in the window and popped in out of interest. Took them 1 week to make and a few fittings. Was very well done. I wasn't allowed in the shop of course, I had to stay outside where I was constantly propositioned by Thai girls, there were other interesting "shops" in that road too.

In the end I said to one that was very persistent, "Look, I am waiting for the woman I love most in the world who is in that shop having a dress made for our wedding in March, I am just not interested!"
She thought about this then said "Just 10 minutes she will never know :)" !!!!
...and she never did ;)

What got the biggest laugh in my speech? Well I was telling the guests about the most sudden and surprising things Alla had said to me, like "I can't remember ever being so happy with anybody ever before".
On one occasion after we had just watched a detailed documentary about the pop group Queen, she looked at me seriously and said "Dave, you know I just can't believe that....Freddy Mercury was gay!"
and later in the wedding her mother said to me "Liked the speech Dave but are you really sure about Freddy Mercury?"

Take care all and enjoy life while you can x
