As per title where's everybody travelling this year for road trip driving, or get away breaks?

Perhaps already been and their recommendation reviews, and any snap-shot photos to show :driving:

January this year I spent Christmas at the Mrs BM family home in New Orleans (Nola), I got to drive the other half's S2000 LHD manual for a few weeks before going on our Mexican cruise, I was unfortunately meant to arrive on new years eve at 6pm but missed my flight in Boston for 24 hours. So there I was spending the most interesting night in Boston airport on NYE in a bar with other interesting happy campers. I recommend New Orleans with a pinch of salt, it's amazing for the seafood multiculture and tourism, history and developments and obviously the French/spanish Quarter jazz foundations, if the weather's right and not in hurricane season it's a perfect atmosphere in the crescent city, the crime rate and gang culture is invisible with some obvious wits like not going out walking at night or dodgy areas etc, definitely more of an adult vacation than family oriented so as long as the child minder is free lol

Where's everyone going this year or future plans?

Madeira, somewhere in Wales (don't know yet) and mid America (Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming)

We were going to go back to Egypt, but that's a no go at the minute. Thinking about waiting untill winter and going to visit family in Australia.

We're heading to Edinburgh for the first time in May just for a few nights to do some exploring and shopping, was going to drive over but with it being just a couple of days

I hate the current security alerts pending us from travelling East :headbang:

6wks on Wed we'll be in Mexico (never been) staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun in Puerto Morelos.

Can't bloody wait. It's adults only and the 'boss' has upgraded the room to a swim up room. Roll on May 4th.

She's 50 in Sept and we are trying to rack our brains for ideas of where to go out of the UK for a week. Suggestions welcome folks.

Venice is a great location for a few days. Sep will be nice temp but less crowds than the summer highs

Cotswolds for long weekend in April, have hired a cottage for my Dad's 70th.
Lanzarote all inclusive family resort for 2 weeks in May
New York for long weekend in December
Hopefully one more week squeezed somewhere in between :D

Work travel (so not vacation, but plenty of travel)

India
Indianapolis
Chicago
Seattle
San Francisco
And plenty of European meetings

Iceland blue lagoon, Italy Venice, or Germany for suggestions

Have a great trip in Mexico - I loved the food there :P

I am lying in bed as I write this in Miami after a heavy night out last night on the strip. Off on a fortnight cruise around the Caribbean this morning. The weather when we landed yesterday was 35deg and steaming.

Barcelona for 4 days of the Easter weekend. Never been so any suggestions?

After that's the usual few weeks in 1,2 & 3 week stays on the south coast of Spain in April, July and September. First month sorted but all depends on how much work I have/need/want to do.

A fortnight in Kefalonia for the summer.. nowt else booked, may do a bit of camping in Wales around easter weather permitting, would love to do a few road trips but a 2 seater and young family dont mix well unfortunately

Colombia in less than two weeks! I've never been there South America before, so I'm sure there will be a lot to take in. Then inusually get away for lots of short Euro trips, rumours about Ibiza this year too!

Keep your hands in your pockets later on at night ! Those girls that are talking to you aren't really that friendly !
Or maybe it's just me drinking in the wrong end of town
Other than that the big market is interesting .

I'm doing ring , dordogne , San Sebastián and Biarritz over 3 weeks , hopefully in a decent convertable .

Thinking about going to Italy, one week on the Amalfi coast in April. I'd like to visit Pompei, Naples, Capri and the Vesuve plus enjoy the seaside before it gets crowded in summer months!

Now I am trying to figure out if we fly there or if the Z comes along with us :) Obviously 1300km from where we live, this would be a long journey... but...

Off to Mawgan Porth, between Newquay and Padstow, over Easter, staying at a place called Retorrick Mill, really quite hippy-dippy and basic but this is our second time and we love it. Main feature of the site is a 'bar' in an old barn filed with arm chairs and sofas, with wood fired cooking and plenty of beer on tap, cant wait.

Thanks - I heard pickpockets and bag snatchers are a real issue there.
