The ultimate Garage Queen

300k on a car - i'd want to track the hell out of it to see what 300k got me

It's what the thing was made for.

Shame really and proves money doesn't buy sense

Agreed - very weird :?
Its a car not a gold bar. Sure its an appreciating asset, but what a waste if not driven

Where else can you invest £300k and guarantee a tax free return? Seems pretty sensible to me...

Property?

And what if the bottom falls out of the classic/super car market?

Wouldn't you still be liable for capital gains tax if you kept it, never drove it and then sold for a big profit? (Genuine question, I have no idea)

Cars are viewed by HMRC as a depreciating asset, so there's no capital gains tax to pay if you make a profit when you sell it (same with watches).

 Right, I'm off to look down the back of the sofa ;)

That's lovely, but 300k does seem a tad expensive, even with the mileage.

Cars are investments to many, but have always preferred to drive them,in the way the manufacturers intended/built them for :D :driving:

I'll never understand buying a car to stick it in a garage. I suppose if you have several others to drive, then it's just like sticking a few quid on the GeeGee's :?

TBH, I can nearly understand buying a car for the sheer beauty of it (507 anyone?) and garaging it, but I'd want the garage to be attached to my living room with mahoosive windows, not on the other end of a 2mp web cam  Even then, the temptation to drive it would probably get the better of me

What's the point of mentioning the 3 year warranty, given your not going to drive it....?!

Surely the market for buying a car at £120k over list much be extremely small? I'd imagine it's a vanity exercise advertising it at that money.
