I will hopefully give it a wash at the weekend and post some better pictures! Maybe even a sound clip for those people interested :D
Yes please

Three pedals is the way...its an M3 not a 7 series you made the right choice. :driving:

Congratulations on the M3, an absolute belter of a motor. There coming in a good money now, superb bargain, the 1st and last I belive of the V8 M3's!

Just found my car for sale if anyone is interested! It's really weird seeing it being sold after owning it for so long!

Yeah but with DCT you get 'auto blips' on downshifts without having to do a two foot shuffle :poke:

I was on the search for a red or white one for a long time! Red is super rare in the M3 world with most of the market made up of black, grey or silver (not for me I'm afraid). The red really shows off the carbon fibre roof and compliments the black leather interior.

It's a pretty well spec'd car but it doesn't have the EDC (electronic damper control) which doesn't bother me as the ride is a lot smoother than the Z4 (even though I had taken the run flats off). The only downside to it all is that it drinks like a fish with the best being around 22mpg. I knew that before I bought it though so that doesn't really bother me!!!

As for the PX price on the Z4; the best I could get out of the dealer was £4000 minus the tax disc I had just put on it. Not alot I know but it was an old car and had done 70,000 miles! The mods made no difference at all! In honesty, the man at the dealership said you'd be better taking them all off and selling them separately. Lesson learnt I guess but I did enjoy modding the Z4 and it looked good!

Lovely car bud

Believe me once you get used to hearing the V8 your mpg will tumble.
I started with an mpg of around 24 whilst running mine in plus crap weather in January. Since having my 1200 mile run in service it's never gone above 19.

Like Lee says it can be VERY scary how quick these things get into licence losing territory, literally seconds. :o

I also really liked your Zed

I don't have anything against the DCT my bro in law has one in his & I enjoyed how it suits the high revs of the V8 when I drove it & I agree it's easier than blipping the throttle yourself in the manual but I just don't like the put foot down hold one & that's it feel to twin clutches.

It's purely personal preference but I am happy to live in the old ages & cog swap using a stick rather than an electronic paddle even if you will be miles faster than me!

Both systems are great just depends which camp you are in, my bro in law had a manual E46 M3 but never even considered it for his E93 M3 it had to be DCT for him, just shows we all like different things. :)

I love the details on your frozen edition biggiz

I bet that wheel has a lovely feel to it, how are you getting on with the paint finish? Is it easy to maintain?

Thanks. :)

The paint work is an absolute dream when clean, it actually looks like Matte Silverstone 2.

Tbh it is high maintenance and I'm a bit of a closet detailer (wife calls it ocd  ) and I also miss the look of a polished car.

But it comes at a price! You can't use normal shampoo's only special stuff from bmw which costs £45 for 400ml and I've bought 3 in 8 months.

I think Swissvaxx do a range for matte paint but it costs even more and I don't really want to take the risk.
Like you say that M button when set to 'Full Phat' is scary.

Sorry for the thread highjack OP, you are going to be smiling for quite a few weeks :driving:

Thanks for the insight

The frozen paint does look the absolute business in the flesh, I hope the OP doesn't mind our obsessive chat about M3's! :)

Pretty sure he'd be ok.

I can just imagine him driving around windows half down listening to that engine

M3 in red is as sexy a Ferrari :poke:

Well it's been a while but I still read and look at the Z4 Forum :)
I thought people would like to see some recent photo's of the M3 after a year of ownership.... It's a fantastic car and I can't really describe the driving experience until you've driven one. The V8 noise is very addictive though!!! Enjoy the pictures.

What is the original Reg? Looks identical to our old one!

Best colour! When we came to sell it the dealer said it was the most unpopular colour! What Bollocks

It's my only car so yes it's my daily drive. In terms of just potting around in the car then it's great for that. Really easy to drive around town and when you want to you can put your foot down and put your head through the headrest :P It's a very adaptable car for any person I would say. Being a manual you do find that the gear change is very notchy when cold but once things warm up then it's a lot easier to drive around.

The Melbourne red is one of the rarest colours for the M3 and I'm pleased I waited until I found this one. So many of the M3's are either grey or black which isn't my bag.

Tom the original plate was NC*****. Surely this can't be your car?

Well ye it is rare and a lovely colour thats why I thought maybe it was! Same year but not the same. Still Awesome motor

It's my 3rd red car... I got some stick for that but I like the colour red :D I wonder who bought my old Z4? I havn't seen it on the forum again :(

Stunning M3, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm very tempted by one of these too, got to fulfil the Z4MC first though but I could definitely see myself with one of these in the future...
