The sound of the six

After a month myself I was wondering how long it lasts :D.

I take it I may aswell have not bothered with the pro speaker upgrade.

Maybe I will record the exhaust and play it back full volume :)

Jasey, can I have your pro speaker upgrade then :D I too love the noise of my (smaller) 6 but the standard audio is rubbish... :-(

Way back in the 60's triumph had a six in its Herald Vitesse - not fast by any stretch of the imagination but it made a very addictive noise. I was often tasked to drive my chief engineers car out and as a 18 year old I made the most of third and overdrive

Before my 35iS my last convertible was one of these :D

It once rolled into a sierra (hand brake was knackered). Just about wrote off the sierra - my car was unmarked :).

Not only was the car noisy it was also smelly - one of the things I miss in todays cars is the stench of petrol / exhaust fumes :D

A guy at work has one as his daily driver. It has straight through pipes and although a little too loud for my liking, it sounds absolutely stunning

Getting used to the shriek of the straight six. After nearly 4 years of ownership. It is a bit one trick pony though. Only really sounds great above 7k. The old five pot in the fiat used to sound fantastic all through the rev range, (When it was working), I still miss that sound.

Many moons ago someone in our street had a TR6. Awesome noise. You could hear it from miles away.

I've had a Herald and a Vitesse - had some fun in the Vitesse when other drivers didn't know a Vitesse from a normal 1200cc Herald
