The silver lining in the clouds.

I crashed my Z4 last night taking a turn. It was my fault and I feel bad for my poor german lady who's been so good to me. :( Luckily, insurance may yet pay to fix her up and I was wondering what my options might be.
Due to the damage, my driver side front fender, hood, and bumper/grill all need to be replaced. I was wondering if perhaps I should get the M hood and bumper as replacements, to sort of make it up to my damaged darling. My question is, will these parts even fit my car? I have a 2005 3.0i.

That's good to hear, thanks friend. I feel so stupid, keep replaying the crash in my head.
Does anybody have any stories similar to mine that had happy endings? I just want to know that my baby is going to be ok.

There was a fellow American with a Toledo Blue car that did exactly that, replaced the headlights with clears and had a M bonnet fitted. Can't remember his forum handle though ...

Was thinking of somone else - Toledo ... had a crash.

*edit* - it was Ridgeway

Thank you all for the well wishes. I'll pass them along to my darling :D
I'm getting some quotes tomorrow to hopefully get a good price on the insurance. All should be well as long as the repairs don't exceed 17k. Don't think they would...

Will I run into any problems putting the M body parts on the 3.0? Will they match with the fenders?

Sorry to hear about hte crash, but hey this happens

The ///M bits will fit but you may have to make a few mods such as iirc the ///M bumper has twin catches. You'll also need to replace to the brake ducts and mod the arch liner and depending on model some tweaks to the undertray. In terms of the overall fit and profile against wings, lights, etc. then they are identical.

audiblescholar, Have you taken any pics of the damage, so when you have nursed her back to health and given her a facelift you can post before and after pics?

Good luck with the repairs

I will surely post before and after.
I'll have to sneak a picture of her when she's not looking. She's very embarrassed when her parts are showing you see...

complete with the little known optional extra holding the bumper on :D

and someone nicked your headlight :o

sure it will be looking like new again soon
