The previous owner screwed me!

The curb easy is bs it's the driver. The finish.. Well a decent refurber will get close to a factory finish. Stop giving people poor advice.
Advising people from experience is not poor advice.....have you owned 108s? plus some people cant all afford a ZMC with real CSLs like you Tom.....bear that in mind heay!

jonny, come on, curbing is down to the driver. I had 108's on my old car and I never curbed them. You just need to learn to park properly. :poke:

I can sort of where johhny is coming from with the curb "easily"

In that the tip of the star over the rim sticks out.

But then the offset is so high they disappear inside the arches.

My 19's with a 9.5 rear are real curb magnets though.

Really useful advice, thanks everyone :) I think I'll budget to get a full set of non rft's after christmas, seems like the general consensus is get rid of them!

Absolutely the right decision. But Michelin Pilot Super Sports may be a tad expensive. Get some Vreds!

Michelin PS3s from Costco if/when they do an offer are good value - full set cost me £565 balanced and fitted just over a year ago.

I just hate 108's period, they are such a dated design, I mean look at Jonnys silver zed with 108's and now with 313's much more modern

I believe there have been PS, PS2 and PS3, and Super Sport. I think the latter replaced the PS2, so the 3 must've replaced the PS. I really do like mine - they are not the cheapest at full price (when I checked they were £700-770 for a full set fitted and a recent quote was £440-ish from ATS for two rears, with a discount), but the are grippy as hell in any conditions. Enough for my driving anyway, and in this weather I have been astonished at how well they go round corners.

+1

Its got nothing to do with being able to afford anything. Simple advice that either worrys people unnecessary or over inflates an issue is poor advice. If you hadn't spent all that money on mods then you could have had a Z4M and CSLs by now with the price they are :poke:

But thats your decision. In my mind your better off buying a faster car to start with rather than trying to improve something BMW spent millions developing. Thats why there is a model structure.

You see your the members that have vision, thankyou Sars!

Sars and I have just fallen out :x

 :D

Haha they may be dating but they are still by far the best option if you want to keep the OEM BMW out of factory aesthetic for an E85.

The 108's on my car are the originals from 2006. They have a few stone chips and a curb or two from the previous owner. No corrosion. Corroding as often as some claim. I'd think one might want to stop parking up in a salt mine.

Sars. I think a silver car with silver wheels as well. Looks dated no mater the wheel design. A silver car begs for a little darker shade or two tone such as J E's.

Each to thier own Tom but thats why we have the Mod culture we do, would be pretty boring Zedfests if we all owned Ms with CSLs all lined up together. :|
Anyway i dont wanna fall out as ur a respected forum member and im just some flash f**k who just wants to throw thousands at my Zed :D

Flash f**k yes, but don't think we don't have respect for you Jonny 8)

(Even though it feels a bit like 'have a go at Jonny week' in here  )

I agree that 313's on jonny's look better then the 108's, and i can see why you would say they are dated... However 108's can be bought and refurbed for reasonable money... Genuine 313's cost thousands! Unless you can get a bargain on gumtree.

Your not wrong. I didn't say there was anything wrong with modification as mine is modified too, but there is a point to whether its worth it or not or just buying the real thing.

What I mean is your better off saving the money and putting into something your clearly ready to grow into, rather than spend money on the car and adding no real value too it. So the 'Im just some flash f**k who just wants to throw thousands at my Zed ' Sums it up, Z4M Roadies start at 12k just saying

Werent your wheel/tyre combo 3k? Thats a 1/4 towards a full fat Z.

Jonny essex, chill man. It's all good, you're a laugh and it helps you're easily wound up

Post count smost count - check out mine, it is seriously embarrassing. We're like our cars - if we were all the same then this would be a very boring place...

Enough thread hijacking - 108s all the way, non-RTFs ASAP, OP now sorted

Unfortunately the cost of the refurb alone has made the potential of buying new tyres for all corners out of the question at the moment :(
Just get new wheels, if u have £500 i can get u loads of links to CSL, 313 reps? 108 no offence ( as ive owned 108s ) are pants, they always ming up and curb so easy :?
when my 108`s ming up  i gonna try to get some like yours jonny well nice,or wait to you sell them

I must say there are too many threads on this forum about corroding 108's for them not to be a poor design IMO. Personally I prefer some of the other designs... I like the 107's, but that's down to personal preference. Kerbing, granted that's the driver, but I do believe they are not as weather protected as other designs. Sure, if you wash, wax and polish the 108's every week then they may say nice, but if you treat them like most people do then expect to be disappointed with them.
