The perfect stubby

Please help... can anyone point me to where I can get a stubby that fits my E86 coupe perfectly.
I'm looking for the small rubbery one about 6.5cm long.
Do BMW do one that fits?

I just got mine on ebay

I've recently bought a cheap one on ebay - the screw thread fitted and the base matched in size but the stubby wouldn't screw down far enough and left an annoying small gap between the stubby and the base.

It wasn't the thread that was too long but the the base of the stubby was too shallow :headbang:

I had one of them and it snapped... Thought it was kids, but it's happened to a few others on here with no provocation - seems to be a design flaw :(

I'll be careful with it then, to be honest I prefer the whip but I use an indoor dust cover and have to unscrew the whip every time I garage the car so I bought thus thinking no loss of reception and don't have to keep taking it off.
Will treat it with care

Can these stubby aerials affect the signal for GPS or is that done separately?

The OE aerial is kinked on the wife's Z so I was think a smaller, more robust aerial would be the ticket but I don;t want to do that at the expense of the signals.

GPS is separate. The antenna aerial provides AM, MW and FM reception ; there is another FM antenna within the rear bumper and the car determines which is getting the strongest signal. Some people report poorer FM signal in remote areas, but I have never had an issue.

The mango walk ones were AWOL at the beginning of the year, so got a citroen one for a fiver, they're still doing them:

Cheers Sae... The Citroen one was the stubby I ordered recently and didn't fit perfectly enough for my OCD :(
perhaps I got a duff one as it was 95% there.

Why not just trim a little off the end of the thread so it screwed in further?

Tried that - it was the bottom of the stubby mounting that was too shallow to screw down perfectly not the length of thread.
