The Pbondar thread

I have absolutely nothing against Peter, I haven’t fallen out with him or had any disagreements; however, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

To bring this thread back on track, and to remind those that seem to have select memory recall.

Pbondar said, “If I can sort out my misfire then it’s no contest the yellow peril survives.. if not .. hasta la vista” – FACT

Pbondar didn’t offer his car far sale on the forum as one would expect; since questions and comments had previously been raised to which he had failed to answer. – FACT

Pbondar has advertised his E89 on Ebay having set the bar high for some unsuspecting buyer. Those of us on the forum who were privy to his previous posts and comments about the problems with his zed were surely entitled to dispute the claims made in the advert, especially when he had claimed that his E89 was “Probably the UK's most well equipped and capable Z4”. – FACT

Pbondar had requested the moderator’s delete his account after members highlighted his previous posts regarding the well known, unresolved issues and the sale of his zed. – FACT

Long time members will know that members that have deleted their accounts in the past, have been discussed and criticised openly on the forum after leaving. I am sure even if Pbondar hadn’t deleted his account, his car advert would have been the focus of in depth discussion on the forum, as he had made known the current problems with the car. In creating the Ebay car advert, Pbondar put the target on himself

Totally agree, the guy sounds like a dodgy Arfur Daley type geezer to me. Anyone who tries to sell a car with known serious and expensive issues to some poor unsuspecting sod deserves everything that is coming his way, I guess that's why he departed the forum so quickly. Perhaps pbondar should think about renaming the advert as the yellow lemon

Spot on - agree on all points.

Clearly none of you know Peter, he's a decent chap and I'm positive that any problem the car has/had would be resolved.

I was thinking something similar.. I don't know Pete at all other than the odd interaction on the forum but there seems to be a lot of presumption here, what's to say it wasn't sorted and running correctly at time of sale.. does anyone know for sure he was selling a lemon?

By his own posts, clearly saying the issues hadn't been resolved, and are ongoing.
As mentioned by others,above.

Plenty of people have made personal attacks on me,and alot of them don't know me.
People see chat from others on various threads, and make up their own minds.
It's quite evident from Peters own posts his car had issues so he got rid.
And he didn't advertise on here as you would expect,if the car was all fully fixed, which he himself said it wasn't running right, misfires etc.
And,btw,at No point did anyone attack Peter in A Personal way, such as some have done to others on here.

As a few others have said,he chose to sell it on eBay, hoping it wouldn't be flagged on here as for sale,
Then he asks way too much, (probably about £5k overpriced, even in the current market).
Then he asks for his account on here to be deleted,as others also pointed out ages ago.
All seems strange.

So ,no have to disagree completely,
His car has issues.
Why just not sell it at auction,at a realistic price, especially with those issues, which I think devalue it more than similar 28i e89s of the age, that recently sold for 12.5k on Autotrader, with same mileage as Peters
As I said myself, adding 10k of mods, that inevitably make the car less reliable, and cause the owner various issues, don't add £7k+ of value to a car.

As I said in my last post, above, people can see from Peters own posts that he was having ongoing issues,as mentioned by others,in this and other threads, which are FACT,not fiction.

And I Have to disagree,Rick....myself and others on here , including some of those posting, know Peter well enough, and in the past 4 years or so that he's been on here and coming to meets etc, probably been in his company considerably more often than yourself (not having a dig btw, just staring a fact).

So plenty of us know exactly what Peters like.

I believe the source of the misfire has been identified and the car returned to a more sensible state of tune, along with verification on the rolling road again. Far from becoming a purveyor of citrus fruit, the owner has invested more capital into ensuring the vehicle is fit for sale.
However, it's much more fun to jump in without all the facts at hand.

That's not the way it reads on here.

And it's okay for people to jump to conclusions regarding some forum members, and give them dogs abuse ,with only part of the info at hand,or what other individuals have told them, based on their own personal dislikes or grudges,
Yet people aren't allowed to comment on Peters chain of events/his own posts.

Those same posts(of Peters) certainly don't read as if it's all resolved, and he said himself,if he couldn't resolve them, he'd get rid.
Which is what he then did,off forum on eBay.
Next best thing to flogging a car with issues, than a car auction.

We all have different opinions, and there's always going to be two different groups of thought, but it's not as if anyone started calling him names or stuff,Just discussed his car,and ebay for sale ad,and people can clearly see what Peter himself has said and done.

Why after spending investing all that money and time on his pride and joy would he then go and sell it if he had resolved the issues, it doesn't make any sense to me. In Peters own words he had stated, “If I can sort out my misfire then it’s no contest the yellow peril survives.. if not .. hasta la vista”, so a lemon he must be selling.

:poke: Pbondar said, “If I can sort out my misfire then it’s no contest the yellow peril survives.. if not .. hasta la vista”. Facts are facts and why did he depart the forum at such haste, obviously he clearly didn't want to try and defend this advert and the engine issues that other members had raised and commented on. The fact that he chose not to comment, speaks volumes to me!

Guys I’ve merged the two ‘Peter’ threads together.

I sensed a bit of conspiracy theory in some earlier posts, the simple fact is that Peter asked for his account to be deleted, and after making sure he knew that all his posts would remain and that it was a permanent event, he confirmed that he did want to go ahead. He isn’t the first to ask - there have been many.

Anyway there’s clearly two sides to all of this which is fine, please try and keep it as civil as possible  :)

I'm not making any assumptions either way whether it was fixed or not, just saying that there are a lot of assumptions being made that it wasn't which I think whatever was previously posted in regard to that car it's unfair to assume it wasn't addressed in some way before it was listed.. Indeed it seems as Enuff Zed has posted that it may have been, certainly if it was my car returning it to a more sensible tune rather than max power would have been my first port of call.. Im not here to point fingers or make judgements and no have no axe to grind with anyone but I do think its quite harsh to cast aspersions on someone without some kind of factual evidence.. Yes we know the car was having issues but we don't know if it was sorted at the time of sale and maybe Peter is conspicuous by absence but it doesn't make him a criminal.. Maybe just someone fed up with drama like this.. Its all bit handbags innit :gfight:

Yes, exactly.
Why would you spend 10k modifying a car, publicise issues you were having with it on here, then saying if you can't resolve the issues, you'd get rid.
Then put the car up for sale.
If he'd resolved the issues/misfires,etc then why not advertise it on here to a focussed audience of z enthusiasts,or those newbies looking to buy?

Anyway, I still say hats off to him for having the audacity to ask £19500 for a "Peach" of a car,and Probably the best handling z in the UK,in his own words....which is having issues, lol

Same money as a newer age of Yellow 35is that was recently up for sale on Autotrader or PH.

Lemon or Peach, you make up your mind.
Buyer beware springs to mine.
