From what Wondermike has said on the previous page all posts stand and aren’t deleted unless the user does so themselves before delete their account so there would be no advantage re selling his car as a prospective buyer/newbie would find the posts in public view and attributed to Peter

Yes but no-one can search his posts now, can they, as he doesn't have a profile? If a prospective buyer of his car came on here, bearing in mind his ebay name is the same as his name on here, and looked for information relating to his car, they would find nothing without trawling through the whole forum :)

I get the impression that "the forum" are protecting Pete here. The fact that he advertised his car for sale and it was then linked and discussed (to a very small degree) on here, then asked for his profile to be deleted seems too much of a coincidence.

There were a few comments made and questions asked about the issues with his car on threads relating to his sale. His silence was deafening, to me.

I have absolutely nothing against Peter at all, but if he has done this to palm an overpriced, seriously damaged car off to some unsuspecting mug then he, and indeed anyone, is fair game as far as I am concerned. If not, then good luck to him, I hope he does well.

I just did a search on him and it pulled up 4177 posts. Granted you’d then need to go through them to find ones relating specifically to his car but all of Peter’s post are still public, visible and searchable

That's the main thing.
Didn't want to lose a valuable catalogue of information.

And [ref]Pondrew[/ref], yes it was me who found the ad and mentioned it on the forum. Out of no malice at all, simply pointed it out.
If he didn't think that would happen then he was slightly deluded, especially as you point out his Ebay name is the same.

What happened to his car?
Just to clarify, it was NOT me who stated this!
Another quotes glitch it seems.

Corrected for you - apologies, no idea how that happened - I used the quick quote function so perhaps a glitch with that?

A fair few of us won't miss him,but no doubt he will come back, once his car is sold.
As you say,Pondrew, nobody can go on here and search his posts for info on the various issues he was having with it,discussed in his own numerous posts/ threads.
Which is a shame for any potential buyers, and someone will end up buying a car with known issues needing time and money spent on them to resolve
Don't think the Forum is protecting him,but possibly just acting on his own request to remove his profile.

Does this mean that all his "Meets" will be cancelled?
Unless he bought another Zed he wouldn't be able to attend his own meets as he chose (his prerogative) to exclude non Zed owning forum members. Could always ride shotgun of course. Just a thought.

No matter how much power he added,it doesn't improve driving ability
Although in his own ad ,it was "probably the UK's best equipped and capable z4 .

Perhaps his curiosity will get the better of him one day and he will dip into the forum at some point in the future. If he see's our concerns he may just post and let us know what happened. Seemed like a nice bloke to me.
