The other day on a snowy parking lot

The car is fun during winter aswell on parkinglots, except two days ago. I have had my licens for about 2 weeks now and went to a quite deserted parking lot with lots of snow and ice fo r my first drifitng (if you can call it that:P) experience... Was alone for about 30 minutes when a couple of other unknown drivers showed up in old rusty bmw's mercs and vovlo 240's, had some fun with them and guess who pulls up when im executing a quite perfect (no to brag) drift, you probably guessed it the police, I desperately look for a way out, but the volvo v70 police car is blocking the only legal way to exit, he turns on the lights and I stop the car... after sweating and swearing at my self for 10 minutes (felt like 1 hour) he comes up to me and says that it is an open parking lot so it is not as dangerous as the streets (said it about 5 times), hinting that if I ever where to try something like that again do not do it on the streets, he leaves me with a warning and kindly ask if those other people are my friends, I politely answer NO, and get in my car driving of very carefully. Been driving like a granny the last couple of days with a warning in the police register, still it was a HELL of a lot of fun while it lasted

Great stuff!!! I tried it the other day in the Local Tesco carpark but I forgot it was open 24hrs a day!!!!

Licence for only 2 weeks??? Dayum, the way you are going that licence may not make it to the end of the year. Take your speed racer fun on the track. I am sure there are some type of winter events going on somewhere close by. It is great fun, you get to meet new people AND it is legal.

Have fun but, for goodness sake, go the legal route and at worst, don't get caught.

alex85, Why read them then? :)

Exactly! Personally, I find it interesting to hear some of the stuff our fellow Zedders overseas write. If I don't I ain't rude about it...I just move on!

Yes I find it interesting to read, but hey are you real that 2 weeks after passing your licence you are attempting to drift such a powerful car in a public car park? Good fun I'm sure, but not at the top of my Captain Sensible list for keeping the licence for long.

Do that in my home town and the car would have likely been confiscated, a fine and 3 to 6 points and as a less than 12 month driver probably the need to be retested for even a minor subsequent offence.

Yeah I know should be more careful, but this place is a ski resort on the top of Oslo with no people so is ussually wuite safe, but someone that passed by (I think it was the student driver with the "L" on the back of a opel astra), but im driving very careful now :) The police officer was actually kinda nice, he basically said that it was not that dangerous there and that I should do it there instead of on the streets (which I would never do) and that if it happend again that we could talk about it then... Got a lucky break I guess :)

Early November and already a lot of snow and ice. :o Sigh, finally a place worse than Montréal.
