With all the comments on here an the original thread. I finally met Neil at Silverstone Classics and that car is… WOW! Definitely one of the best on the forum! Cracking guy and lovely gf, was great to meet you.

Hmm, thought it was an M untill I saw the engine bay with the M54 lump in it. I do like the orange details though.
Some questions though:

Do the climate control knobs of the facelift version fit in the prefacelift? As yours look like the facelift climate knobs.
 
Thanks again for all the amazing comments, i didn't do a how to on the ashtray but i'll see if i can write something up mate, duno if i'd do it again, its a really fiddly job trying to sand down in between the pods, i know not driving a car before buying is a no no, but even if i had driven it and told my mrs not to buy it, she wouldnt have listened to me as she loved it soo much, its been a bit of headache but its all been worth it, im going to spend the next few months working on my new project my mk1 escort cosworth, so she can use it for work so i can get some work done under the bonnet on the zed to get it ready for next years shows! she doesn't no this yet though!!!! :P

I have the facelift heater controls on mine. It's a simple swap, but not a direct swap. What you need to do is remove the faceplate from the facelift controls, and fit this to the control unit of the pre-facelift, then it'll work properly. If you do a direct swap, one of the controls doesn't function correctly as the control untis are slightly different.

I also thought this was an M. I was wondering the OP managed to fit E46 M3 brakes on the front. I didn't think these would be a direct swap?

The controls and the brakes had already been done before i bought it, i just fitted the new discs and pads, it doesnt look like there was any modifications needed to fit them though, with the heater controls you say that the facelift ones dont work corectly, does this affect the temperature control? i sometimes think that the temperature isn't what its showing on the controls? but this could just be in my head!! but this could be one the previous owners bodges ive missed :x

I'll look into the brakes as I'd be intrested in the upgrade when the time comes.

I can't remember off the top of my head but there's a post somewhere on the forum which talks about this, which is where I found it out before fitting mine. When I'm on the pc later I'll have a look for more info.

I felt in love a long time ago with alcantara + orange stiches. It looks fantastic! If I may ask, how much does such modification cost in UK?

If you search 'facelift heater' it's the first post. It seems to suggest that a direct swap stops the cold air from blowing out really cold. Hope that helps.
