The old girl polishes up well

Well that has sold me on black kidneys for my red 23i!!!! Looks FANTASTIC op.

May I ask where you got those ones from?

Thanks!
They are OEM ones. I bought mine from Sopers in Lincoln. The spares dept there are very helpful and they give Forum members a discount. They are are quite expensive for what amounts to two bits of plastic. There are copies available on EBay but I think the quality can be variable judging by some Forum members comments.

Beautiful looking motor, but sorry I've got to disagree, I think the the silver grills look better on the 35is matching the mirrors

I just fancied a change and have kept the originals. They are easy to change so in a years or so if the mood takes me they can be refitted. :D

Looking awesome bud  8) :driving:

Love the grills, and personally I'd paint the mirrors body colour :? 8)
Afternoon Dave. I had thought about having the mirrors carbon dipped but quite like them as they are with the silver wheels. Talking of mirrors I was thinking of contacting you re:retrofit electric folding mirrors. I came across one of your posts on the subject. Is it something you would do?

It's an interesting one that's for sure.
I've looked into it and personally discounted it on the shear costs involved as you're talking in the region of £600+ for the parts. At that point I gave up looking into it.
If I could get hold of everything involved cheap enough then I might give it a go on mine, but if it's anything like the RLS and dimming mirror then it'll probably be a complete pain in the backside  (to be fair I simply haven't got back around to sorting them yet!)

I need more time to do stuff, far too many other non-Z4 related jobs are always getting in the way and we have just taken on something that'll stop Z4 stuff even more now :headbang:

Well it was a thought! I know you are a busy man and it does look expensive.

What’s the mileage on it IRD...?
43800 John. I expected to do about 4000 miles a year. But this year it will only be about 2000 because of all that has happened. It still makes me smile every time I drive it and I always look back as I walk away when it’s parked.
Cheers
Ian

Unless you really want something different that’s got to be a keeper no...? Un molested and mint, lovely car.
Nope its been molested, I see the obligatory stubby.....

Well being a little on the short side myself I thought a stubby was appropriate! :D :D :D

Always a fan of red. Have you considered a drop? It'd change the aesthetics completely.
Not really. Knowing me I’d forget the car was lowered and either catch the kerb or ground it on a speed bump. I had a deeper tyre profile on my 230s and that did make the wheels look bigger and fill the arches better. However, they were 8.0 at the front and 9.0 at the rear. The new wheels are 8.5 and 9.5 and I’m not sure what are the maximum sizes I can safely fit. More research is necessary.06074662-4A21-456B-A168-FD55F0B7C4D8.jpeg

Great looking motor and I love the wheel choice
Now are you referring to the new fashion of having different designs on the front and back?

Thanks, I’m really pleased with them. I bought them from another Forum member. My 230s have also moved to yet another member.

Fair enough, lowering isn't for everyone.
New wheels make a huge difference to the overall look of the car, especially in that comparo shot with the old set on the back. Your new wheels are reminiscent of the Alpina design.

Thanks for your comments. The only drawback is that they aren’t as easy to clean as the 230s.

Bilt Hamber Surfex + Pressure Washer = Clean and Sparkly Wheels in minutes. :)

(Citrus based, and also good for tar spots, squashed bugs etc) and will gently treat that lovely looking car the way it deserves.
