The Offside rule and women

NO not the football one,
My eldest daughters car failed MOT for an ilegal tyre, she had told me her boyfriend had checked them before hand and they were fine, Failed on offside front, My wife called me at work to tell me and if I could organise getting it changed :roll:
I asked her which tyre it was, She told me it was the offside passenger one :rofl: After Explained that was a contradiction and asked her to read out what it said on the fail certificate, Offside front she said, OK,
I then used Tyreshopper and bought one and booked it in, nowhere during the buying and booking procedure did the online system ask me which wheel it was for,
Daughter took car in and they asked her which one, she told them it was front passenger (which was changed approx 2 months ago), so National tyres went ahead and changed it, even though it was perfectly fine and failed to notice the horrendously ilegal tyre, as in you can see the white weave on the inside of the tyre. When I asked her why she told them to change that one she told me she thought offside was passenger side.
So it would appear it is not only the football offside that confuses them.

Shame the fitter at national tyres wasn't a woman as she would have understood exactly what offside passenger meant and put the tyre on the right wheel :rofl:
 
Can't believe they changed it anyway, what a bunch of muppets :x

So their misunderstanding of the offside rule is now going to cost you a 2nd tyre :!:
 
for a woman to be confused is understandable, but for national tyres to change a good tyre is just a disgrace

+1 - would you not ask 'are you sure ?' if asked to change a 2 month old tyre with loads of tread ? And even if you didn't want to embarrass, perhaps check the other one to be sure ? Idiots. Can you call them and check that they still have the tyre they took off so they can fit it on the right wheel ?
 
Going to call them today as it was to late yesterday when I noticed, and no it won't cost ME for a 2nd tyre, it will cost my daughter, her error, and she will learn the hard way not to act so blond, even though she is.

Surely they will still have the one they took off ? As long as they are not directional you can get them to use it to replace the worn one :?
 
Nope, the tyre was changed on Wednesday, called National this morning and all there old tyres were picked up yesterday, saw no point in trying to have a go at them for not noticing the dud tyre coz all they are going to say at the end of the day is that they changed the one they were told to.
Daughter moaned her face off but soon shut up when I told her to take a drive down there and havea go at them for doing what SHE asked them to do. I have put her spare on for her so she is at least legal until she gets a new one.
I am willing to make a bet she doesn't make the same mistake again, because now it has hit her in the pocket she is now all of a sudden an expert on nearside and offside. :rofl:
