It isn't an inconsequential amount of money for us, and this has really w4nk3r3d things up for us.

Turns out its eBay, not PayPal. The only thing we can think of is that Mrs C had sold some electronics (an old phone, camera & printer) & she'd not sold any electronics before. ?
 
I no longer have a PP account nor would i use one ever again , something about the whole structure leaves me thinking i'm dealing with some offshoot of Don Corleone
