For those of you who were at HC07, they wouldn't allow us to take a factory tour because they were building the new X6 and didn't want to give anything away. Well, its out and you can see it. Just go here. http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-x6.html or google BMW x6

Mmmm, not sure if I like it or not... certainly a nice new toy for mothers to take their kid to school in

Well, against the trend here but I like it :D

Then again ... I have an X5 now as well ...

I don't like it....I LOVE IT!!!! As far as I was concerned, the infinity fx series was the only SUV on the market with styling that didn't scream "I'm great for picking up groceries!" I'm happy to see that BMW has come up with a sexy solution.

Doesn't do a thing for me...
:idunno: I just don't get this market segment at all.

If I need an SUV, I want something more truck like.
If I want sex on wheels..... I already have it. :D

X2 and SUV or pickup truck must be able to handle a number of 4 X 8 sheets of plywood... :)

He he..spot on! That's the segment of the market they target with these...

Have a look at the visibility through the rear window (or lack of)! As if I don't already fear the 'soccer mom' X5 driver already when reversing, this will take it to a whole new level! Make sure you NEVER park your Zed behind one of these :P

I think it looks pretty good.

My wife drives an SUV for work. She needs to carry a lot of materials (she's a sales rep) so she needs the extra cargo space but doesn't want the rough ride of a truck. SUV's are also a little more reliable and get better gas mileage then a truck (for the most part). She also needs the navigation system and loves the plush interior with heated seats, etc. while she's working out of her vehicle. She has a Nissan Murano and loves it!

OK... I've got a HUGE beef I need to get off my chest. It's been bothering me since the first time I read about the X6.

:soapbox: Ehem...

WHY THE HECK ARE THE PRESS CALLING IT A COUPE???? Chris Bangle calls it Coupe-like... Pierre Leclerc says the same. And they both refer to the SAV as a Sports Car. IT'S NO FLIPPIN' SPORTS CAR!!! It's just an SUV with truncated roofline, and looks aggressively sporty. It's still a truck. Sure... if they put in a V10 / V12 engine and the sucker will go <4.5secs from 0-60, it'll be a force to be reckoned with. But it's not more than what they make this vehicle out to be. I just get frustrated when they try to blur the definitions and try to make a vehicle something that it isn't. It isn't a Sports Car Coupé. :x

I still love the looks of this beast, though. Thanks for listening to my rant tonight, my family.

I like it, But then again i do like the X5 too.

Range Rover Sport would be top of my list though.

Cheers
