The new Mustang - a bit marmitey ?

Not sure about this - red looks good . £30k for the base 2.3 eco model . If you want one ( rt hand drive ) you'll have to wait till 2015. Hope this doesn't go the same way as the "Probe " - I had one for several years ( it was the 24v 2.5 model ) personally loved it but was continually rediculed :P

I remember the Probe was a bit sporty but had boring looks, opposite to the old Mustang, good looks but no handling :D

Looks nicer from the front than the rear..... but I like the V8

Exactly my thoughts as well !
I am a huge Mustang fan, having owned a '67 Fastback and a '79.
Mustangs and Mini's were on my short list when I got seduced by the Zed
(The Zed wasn't even on the list but called out to me while I was Cooper S Lookin' )

The latest version Mustang looks great but still harkens to it's Muscle Car heritage.
It's arse is lardy and held up very high. Not too sure why the designers didn't hunker it down into it's wheel wells so it was ready to pounce.
Lower seems to be better, but ???
Im hoping they send it off to the Gym and give it a more athletic image.
Right now its just an over steroided paluka.

The first brand new car I ever bought was a Ford Probe 24v. I thought it was a great car at the time. :)

For anyone saying the Mustang does not handle well, the Boss 302 MANHANDLES my M3 on any track. For 20-30K less, as well. The Boss 302 is IMO the perfect Mustang. The new GT supposedly outperforms the Boss 302, so imagine how the new Boss 302 will do.

Is that one of those American tracks that is just a big oval? :poke:

It's nice to finally find out who owned the other 2 probes that Ford sold. The third one being bought by Alan Partridge obviously.

The salesman I talked to wasn't sure what was happening with the Boss and the Shelby... They may not change for a while.

As US cars go it's not bad looking. I think you desire such models more in the US where you were brought up with the heritage of the brand (Chevy, Camaro, Mustangs, etc.), while in the UK we have our own childhood developed aspirations.

I could never own or drive on of the current US models in the UK as they are just too Del boy. Would enjoy the V8 sound though

References to Probe in the same post as Mustang makes me smile. A general failure of a car being merely a front wheel drive Mazda with small engines and quickly dating style. My boss had one in the day and he was laughed out the car park every day... quickly replaced it with a BMW 325

Front looks good, as does the 3/4 front side view, But the rear lights are a bit high and the transition from the rear lights to the lower bumper is rather odd and busy. Nice to see Detroit finally dump the lamp post rear axle. Took several decades, But better late than never. It will be good to have an American muscle car go around a corner.

The center console and upper central dash vents are hideous.
