the new cayman/boxster GT4

Byron, I saw this and thought of you :D

but I see I was beaten to it

i love it!! but why is only 4k cheaper than the GT4 that has all the Gt3 suspension n bespoke rear, aero , etc.... however the Spyder is perfect for me! a proper roadster i love the look of it.... really do... i can see this one depreciating alittle bit... but his one is a really big step backwards in terms of performance... i can definitely see one of these or the GT4 in my ownership... hopefully the latter!

Finding the spyder a massive grower. Didn't dislike it when I first saw it, but didn't love it. and I find myself staring for longer and longer every time I look. It's sex on wheels, good to see it has a proper hood too, don't mind it being manual. Still more in love with the Cayman though , suprising as I always have perferred soft tops. Like it being a manual too, all part of the drama of a roadster/spyder imo

that blend of red leather and grey alcantara interior is quite stunning - so much better than the OTT all blood red in earlier versions - though I accept I am now utterly bias - though still love the sterling/dream red/roof Zed combo . . . .

It's quite a power hike too - do you lose all the rear boot space though ? I still don't think I could cope with the manual(ish) roof in Scottish conditions - though the biggest downpour we've ever been caught in was near Fleulla Pass, Davos, Switzerland where the Zed's roof thoroughly trounced the 2 man "get the roof back on" job of the Wiesmann MF 4 which we were trailing ! Both guys and their car interior got very wet indeed and I wouldn't want that in a new Boxster. I'll stick with my S then for a bit. looking forward to seeing a spyder in the flesh though - must be quite a crowd puller - if that's your thing.

The new spyder is stunning, loved the look of old one, but this really does a great job of being a carrera gt stand-in for 275k less. The side profile is probably the sexiest of the cayman/boxster variations yet.

...Almost makes me want to change from coupe to vert, but not quite, the Cayman GT4 for about the same money probably edges it...

Really exciting to see these cars with the 3.8 too, performance wise surely these are going to be in the junior supercar class for sure :)

definitely the most exciting cars that are "around" about our price range.... i say around about slightly tongue in cheek as 70k with options for a boxster is too much BUT. I'm pretty certain this one will definitely move around in terms of price.

And so we have the Boxster Spyder folks....

http://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/boxster-spyder/15620/porsche-boxster-spyder-preview-specification-pricing-and-performance

Edit: 370hp 3.8 litre engine, manual fabric roof, manual gearbox only though Stark. £60k.

It's a lovely looking thing.

  and they've changed the roof mechanism which was putting me off the old model.
I want.

Definitely.... they've kept ll the complicated motors out for lightweight but made the whole setup much more user friendly and DD-able.... Such a good idea and clearly saves alot of weight !

I've been playing with the configurator for DAYS and many hours and here's what I've come up with, this isn't by any means an all out Spec'd car, and I'm REALLY missing the PCCB ( which this car needs imo with the lightweight philosophy) and as a music crazy person i really wanted the top end audio setup but sadly its erm.... 2.5k. what do you guys think? Was surprised such basic add-ons add so much to the cost of the vehicle. Ive added back in nearly all the no-cost options.

Looks awesome Beedub, but it's nearly £70 :o

As you saw NOTHING that was outlandish.... literally the stuff you'd NEED for nice car and for re-sale! i LOVE the car but it aint worth 70+k no way however as said before i can see this one coming down alittle..... its the same price as the GT4.... which is insane imo.. don't forget this car has none of the bespoke suspension pieces, its a GTS spec apart from the humps.

If it was me, I would be getting a gt4, im not really expecting them to depreciate but im keeping my fingers crossed, I would get a manual with the Spyder and a black interior,

mines been feeling all jealous with all the GT4 / spyder talk its been hearing recently.... so i got her out for some tinkering. looks kinda like a hardcore z4 version :driving: :driving: lol considering these are all different O.E pieces from the factory for the cars cosmetics i think its all worked really well...

Must.. keep.... faithful..... to z4......
