A friend is on the waiting list for the Cayman GT4. He's jumping out of a 997 (which replaced a Cayman S) and it looks awesome

Stu is your car sold yet? or you keeping it now?

It's amazing how quickly the price ramps up once you tick a few 'must haves'. 10k extra comes round pretty fast!

I'm not sure I'd bother with the carbon brakes if it was going to see a lot of track time though. I seem to remember more than a few cases of them not lasting well when put under hard use. I'm going on the previous generation of discs mind you, so maybe things have improved? :? You'd bloody hope so for over 4k!

Love the way the wheels look like GT3 wheels but without the expensive and difficult to maintain centre lock mechanisim on the GT3 .

From Autocar's Geneva blog. What was Mowflow saying about no production limits? This will be either a zero depreciating car or an appreciating one.

"0725 More Porsche news - factory sources suggest that ramping up production of the Cayman GT4 further won’t be possible. UK buyers have been particularly hit by the small allocation of cars, leaving many unable to get hold of a car.

0722 A well-placed source has told Autocar that the eagerly-anticipated Cayman GT4 is already ‘virtually sold out’ across the world. A total production run of around 2000 cars has been planned and demand has already outstripped supply."

funnily enough i had some seat time yesterday with a boxster...... Full review coming here!!

the GT4 is going to be incredible.... if the base boxster performs like that the Gt4 will be incredible and i THINK its going to appreciate like crazy.

Looks forward to your review Beedub.

I just can't get the Boxster GTS out of my head just now and I'm scared if I test drive one that want will become unbearable.

Doesn't help I'm finding the ///M looks very outdated now :(

i wish the tapatalk app was working with the forum and id stick some pics up.

i will sit down this evening and put down a long review, car was a base boxster 2.9 but with some nice spec, pdk. was insane in sports mode, kinda slow to react in normal mode.

I think PDK is the way forward in these cars, sadly the manual gearing is too far too long to enjoy :(

Did it have Sport Chrono?

so tuesday.....

took my moms pan turbo in for a service and was offered a base 64 plate latest model 2.9 boxster but with a healthy spec, car was fully spec's inside, sport and sport plus, sports exhaust , pdk and all the toys, especially for a 2.9 model.

Where do i start by saying the car was beautifully screwed together, really really impressive, first thing i need to say their is not even the tiniest even giveaway your in a roadster inside, the car feels absolutely rock solid in terms of the platform not so much as a wheel shimmy or shake anywhere, no matter how hard your pushing, so lets drop the rigidity thing here right now, no way is it even an issue.... The steering was direct, weighty but didn't have much in the way of "feel" but the car was so well behaved and felt beyond beautiful to push, so so so natural and effortless in a way the z4m can only dream of in stock form, funnily enough the cramped cabin "feel" and general ergonomics reminded me of the Z4, i think the z4m looks so much nicer in both forms respectively. I prefer the z4m steering wheel and feel but from here the porsche takes over, the brakes wow... bare in mind this is the base model were just awesome, totally full of feel and bite, the gearbox is slow in normal mode but in sport plus was just like a machine gun so fast and just painful to admit makes so much more sense than a manual, i literally revved this thing out to just hear the exhaust popping and crack for a factory setup the noise was quite a shock!! This car literally blew me away from the moment i drove it away, that engine..... oh man the noise, did i mention the mechanical thrash, the guttural sounds it makes, just LOVELY! The 2.9 model was SLOW, seemed quite slow to rev and wasn't much to write home about, my old 130msport engine felt so much sweeter. I LOVED it. I can only IMAGINE what a GTS would feel like, the car was so impressive and it was a stark reminder how much the game has moved on, BUT..... it also reminded just how impressive the z4m was and STILL is.

Lastly, i left that car just absolutely mind blown thinking what the gt4 will be..... Hell F the gt4 for the moment i have a REAL feeling that the GTS is all the car any z4m owner could dream for, and on that note, i have managed to blag one for a weekend and i can wait!

porsche are just killing it right now!

One last thing, i was SHOCKED and i mean Shocked on how many heads a base 2.9 boxster can turn heads, literally everywhere i parked this car ( central b'ham town) i had people asking about it, taking pics, and just generally staring at it, people LOVED it.... Was really surprised just how many people "noticed" it.
