after a bit of research, the GTS has a ticket price of $180,000 bone basic here :(

Specced appropriately drags the price up to $245,000

a damn sight better than the GT3's $320,000 base price though :headbang:

I am literally checking every time I'm on my computer at the mo, if all is within my limits & the spec is what has been rumoured, my car will be up for sale this spring :-(
 
So, its £64k then....manual only.....sounds pretty good. I'm guessing most will add PCCB and a few other bits so £70kish sounds ok....well kind of!

Who's going for one then?
 
Yes I was wrong! That's a great price. As Angelus says I reckon most will be over £70k (club sport pack £2,700 etc) but it's a great price for a manual, NA car with that package IMO.

If I had the cash to buy one new I would be doing. I don't think this going to depreciate at all.

I wonder if this is going to shoot the 991 GT3 in the foot or not? Guess not, Porsche normally knows what it's doing.

BUT........ this is the only new car right now id want and I'm guessing it will be a total weapon, id want the seats, not fussed about the other options really. i can't help but feel alittle disappointed with its gt4 name and lack of extreme nature, i was hoping a GT3 version of the cayman basically with cage, etc.

However as its a 911 engine I'm guessing over 400hp is easily possible..... i love the GT3 type looks.... i think.... this could be the end of the z4m for me, the price is OK. I'm going to start compiling my for sale advert on pages :cry:

Yes I know what you mean. Apparently it's a conservative 385 they said. But the specs are slightly slower than a 991 CS PDK, but maybe they just published that, and it will actually be quicker? Seems to have some nice GT3 bits too it.

Seems a modern day Z4m to me: 385bhp NA engine, manual only, mechanical LSD etc.

Won't it feel a bit underwhelming performance wise compared to your Z4m monster?
 
You can specify half-cage with the Clubsport pack, just as you can with the GT3. This will be a weapon. It's about 150kg lighter than a 991S which is hardly lacking performance.

It will be a £75k car though properly specified - PCCB, Clubsport and a few other bits.

Currently working out creative ways to stretch my replacement budget far enough!! :D

i think alot of things will feel unwhelming in terms of outright power BUT.... i think as a complete package its box fresh and developed this way from the off. The pricing worries me as with the bits I'm going to need it think its going to push 80k which is just a sum i can't reach right now.

ok well I've just spoken to sutton coldfield OPC they want 5k deposit but this doesn't guarantee me a car.

Now heres my problem, i really want the PCCB, clubsport package, and the Nav/decent stereo setup ( this is a must for me as I'm a big music fan) from my conversation with the dealer they believe that will spec at over 78k.... thats past my absolute max, but i would HATE to sell my beautiful z4m and look back and be disappointed because i didn't get the spec i wanted, i think I'm going to try however and go for a top end price for mine on the private market and see what happens, i may just get lucky and find someone willing to pay what i wish, but I'm going for a 30k+ price which is ambitious in todays market for a highly modded vehicle, i hope its general condition and oem like approach push through and maybe i get lucky, but its going to be an interesting time especially as I'm doing this slightly earlier than anticipated...

I've had my z4 for 8 years and i absolutely love the thing but i think its time for a change now and if anything can pull me away its this., I've also scratched my MOD bug and REALLy went to town and enjoyed every single step of it and put the mods to task too, I've done it once but i would never do it again , I've really been able to enjoy all the mods and have really played with all the various settings to get to my version of a very serious dual purpose vehicle ( definitely weekend use however, you'd have to be a nutter to DD it). Im more mature in my approach the car scene and more than happy to keep a car for 10+ years. I want something with all the bits from the factory , i want something that can come to the sprint track and cut a sub 1.30 with relative ease, i want oem roll cage, i want awesome brakes from the factory basically i want the complete package from the off, yes I'm sure ill make tweaks but i want it all their from the off, i think this is the car. It may not happen but im going to try. If my z4m doesn't sell then I'm in a win win situation, i keep a unique ( in terms of condition and spec) car I've owned pretty much all its life OR, i put it up for absolutely top end and it sells. Their are alot of things stacked up against this really but.... you only live once and I'm going to give it my all, whatever i say, 75+k for a stripped out cayman is mega money imo. Whatever way i look at it my little z4m has pushed me so far into the performance world I'm actually having to step back in certain areas. i Hope I'm making the right decision as I'm jumping from one seriously sorted car that has taken years to reach where it is today, once its gone its irreplaceable.

Car will be out tomorow where ill take around 30 really detailed pics from door shuts to underside, to everything that details its condition and I'm going to try. Lets see, my price is definitely going to set tongues wagging however.... and it will be 35k!!!! Thats a serious ask, I'm well aware but, i think and feel its worth it, their is nothing in that price range that will get you anything as special IMO of course. When we are in the age of a Fiat 500 that can cost 52k. So 35 k for a s54 engined , small , relatively lightweight vehicle with a hole heap of the best parts money can buy with well north of 500 Hp is a bargain In my eyes .

Personally I'd say go for it. Unless you try you'll never know and there isn't a formal market as such for a car such as yours. It's going to appeal to very specific people and there aren't many 11k miles, 500hp cars available for that sort of cash. It's a bit of a one-off. I'd be tempted to give Hexagon a call as well and Munich Legends and see if there is interest there.

I reckon the GT4 will be pretty much immune to depreciation. I can't see it dropping much. I don't reckon they'll ever fall below £50k. It's a Porsche motorsport product and we've seen what happens to their value. That makes it a lot better proposition to throw serious cash at than some other cars (F-Type Jag springs to mind).

I can't afford one yet. But you never know what may happen in the next year or so but this is now definitely on a very short shortlist of cars I'd swap mine for. I just love it.
 
£35K is going to be a big ask Beedub. I hope that you get lucky and you get the 1 person who is willing to pay that. In my opinion it is worth that much. Just take a look at some of the low mileage standard ZM's that have sold for £25-£30k. Like anything in the world today, an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Fingers crossed for you mate :thumbsup:

Will the PCCB be a good idea for the sprint work Etc? I know the unsprung weight will be lighter, but it seems some people on Piston Heads remove the PCCB as they can get trashed on track, and are very expensive to replace. I have no experience of this, so might be uncommon, but you could possibly save yourself 5k off the bat and possibly have a better setup?

I'm sure you have done your own research, so probably telling you what you already know! I would absolutely love a GTx Porsche. Shame it's not in sight for me as I'm trying to buy my first house!

Keep us updated. When is first delivery due?
 
All positive and negative comments are welcomed at this point tbh and i agree.... 35k is a big ask for my z4m but i don't think i could realistically let it go for less without totally kicking myself at a later date, its absolutely worth it and then some IMO of course. Interestedly been having a very long conversation with my dad who thinks I'm taking a step backwards massively on performance and feels i may take this jump and look back very disappointed, he's very quick to point out that once the Zs gone, its gone which I'm well aware of, he thinks id be very hasty to put a deposit/order down at this point without extensive driving. He also feels ( his opinion) that this will be a big step back in ultimate performance :? :? Definitely didn't give me the bolstering i was expecting.

Lets just see, i will update in due course, i appreciate the comments. Whatever i say i absolutely love love love my z4m, this isn't about I'm bored or fed it, its been, still is incredible from day 1, its been my favourite car I've owned, i only have good things to say about the z4m, with some choice mods they are totally weapons. one of the most underrated vehicles on the last decade and one day i think ill look back and see these very expensive once again. Ace car. I need to be seriously sure about this one, it will take me top dollar to move out of the z4m world, but again, lets just see what happens.

On the pccb i think the ceramics are now of a different generation and offer the type of braking performance that i require for this type of vehicle, the AP setup i have on my car has the set the bar high. Very high. The hole car has actually. definitely not letting my head rule my heart but am definitely going to try. :-)

this is a natural setup from the z4m platform, sadly the pricing of the performance car now days has gone to the point where the STEP is massive for not that much of a gain and in my car case, a potential step back in a few areas. You Pretty much echo my mindset right now, lets just look at the boxster spyder and cayman R, still at like 40k+ for the best examples!! Not bad at all.
