May be a good option further down the line if the reliability is proven and it depreciates. Caymans aren't depreciating that heavily so it could end up being a bit of a bargain.

With no manual box and being French, I couldn't consider it.

Really :? maybe i'm missing sme sort of usp but £50k for any French car is enough to cause a asthma attack let alone that front end that reminds me of a 80s Nissan
Side profile / rear haunches are pure Porsche rip off , i just don't get the car at the pricepoint , perhaps at £30k but above that i just see a white elephant on wheels
I can't imagine a massive waiting list for one

You’d like it , it offers a different answer to the sports car question the way the E85/E86 did and does.

I’ll keep you posted ... as to waiting lists who knows , only 140 Premier Editions in the U.K. ( most went to France) - Pure and Legend Deliveries are at the moment on a 12 month back order . But the deposits are refundable so how many people will go ahead in the U.K. remains to be seen.

Hi Rob long time no see, hope you're well and good look with the Alpine

I love that they're taking on lotus, yes I'd prefer a V6 and manual box, but with current buyers and environmental regulations those times have gone.
As for the brand snobbery, I've owned three Citroëns and all have been just as reliable as my bimmers. No water pumps or suspension refreshes up to 100k, so maybe more reliable
They also know how to make a light car, unlike the Germans, who just add more power

I haven’t seen one in real life but it doesn’t do it for me at all from the pictures.

However, I wasn’t particularly bothered by the 4C and then I saw a couple at a PistonHeads meet. Now I can’t get the idea of one out of my mind.

Well done. Saw a couple at FoS for the first time in the metal and I think they're are a really special little car, especially if they drive as well as all the reviews suggest.

Well it turned up .... won’t be to everybody’s taste .. but it is mine ; running it in at the moment but it’s much more refined than I expected .

Off for PPf and GTechniq next week

It looks like a Porsche that has melted a bit
First and foremost a car has got to look good, performance comes next.
