The negatives to a Z4

I use my Z4 as a daily and I love that I can listen to that fabulous N52 engine most days!!

Though some people think it is odd that my Z4 is my daily given that I also have a E46 330i Individual. The E46 is my Friday / weekend car :D

My Z4 is my special day/weekend car. But I get to hear an N52 every time I go out as my daily E90 330i also has an N52 - but it's far too quiet for my liking. :(

I thought my E90 330i was far too quiet as well. :(

From what I read though both the 130i/Z4 with the N52 engine are much more vocal. I'm a firm believer that if a car has reasonable cylinders and capacity then you should be able to hear it for sure. 8)

Good choice!
One thing I would recommend with the bones is to put a tie-wrap around each of the securing loops as they can slip off the spars with even just a light bike frame mounted.
Bit of a design flaw imo as they’re friction-fit but the tiewraps secure them nicely.

Ahh is that the bits that go around the frame you mean? I'll get something extra to tie down with. Thanks for the tip!

Is it easy to put on and off car? I've not tried yet!

My Z4 with the N52 is way more vocal than my 330i, especially as my current Z4 has a custom cat-back exhaust!

I don't know about the 130i (yet), but that's the only car I'd want to replace my 330i.

It's a doddle once you've done it a few times. Usually takes me about 5 mins.
To protect the paint I use some pads made up of that squishy black sh!te you can get for your dashboard and slip them under the 4 feet.
I also wrapped the hooks in 6 bits of old bike tyre innertube.
Don't overtighten as you'll put stress on the boot lock, but enough to secure it of course.

What are the negatives to the car?

- Not being able to drive the Z enough
- A huge fear if the Mrs wants to go shopping in the Z with you to the supermarket
- The Mrs borrowing the Z without your knowledge
- Loss of weekend time (car cleaning) & acquiring varied levels of OCD
- This forum for making you have new wants & spending your money on loads of things you suddenly find out you need
- Morons who have one washer jet that squirts over their car to yours behind @ traffic lights

Love these 😂 the washer one especially :headbang:
