The March 2011 Photo Competition - COMMENTS

Tough month this month. Gonna be a close call I reckon between 3 or 4 entries. Some great efforts going on on this forum.

I know, i've just voted but there are three i really love who should have won on any month that didn't have this higher standard, shame they can't re-submit unless i've mis-read

I was right, it was a close call and congrats to a deserving winner. It is just a shame that only 59 people voted. I expect it is the same people who vote over and again. I have to say I am surprised because I know my own picture received 100's of views via the forum (photobucket stats)

I am up early as I am off to NYC for a week and the first thing I did was look at the resuslts. So well done winner.

Ooooh!! So close! Tough choices this month! Thanks to those that voted for mine.

Comp was a bit low on votes this time round? :?

ooooooOOOH! So Close. :heat: Well congrats to the winner bimmerboy. If there's a vote off for second then Good Luck Easty.

Wish it had been a closed comp, might just have nipped it if it had been. Gutted really, I can't believe after a 1300 mile drive and a shot as good as that all without any fancy editing manipulation and I still didn't get the win with that shot over what is after all yet another garage shot, but then I prefer Mountains to garages

Thanks to everyone that voted for me.

thanks guys and gals. just got back to the site today after a hard, long work week. Pleasant surprise as i was sure that either Petach or Breaker would win. Super entries... remarkable actually considering no pros in the crowd.

Congrats to all!

Tough competition for sure, I didn't even vote for myself

Great pics , sure was close...

Just seen the result, congrats to the winner - it was a tough competition. I'm surprised that so few voted. I know there's been a discussion about a theme for the next competition but i assume the participants in that thread are those who are interested in entering or those who bother to vote. I wonder what response there would be if the forum in general were asked what would get them interested in voting or what they wanted to see in the competition.
My vote normally goes to the pic i would consider having framed on my wall.

well done bimmerboy, sorry but i vote for some one else, i never manage to pick the winners - i must have bad taste

The number of votes was around about normal, usually early 50s to mid-60s.

WLH bumps the voting thread regularly to ensure it's near the top, the thread gets many more views than votes which is to be expected because people will view it more than once, but it is clear that lots of people visit the thread but don't vote.

Not sure why :idunno:

Petach, your photobucket stats aren't unique views, so the same person viewing the pic ten times would register as ten views.

Was going to start a poll to ask why people don't participate in polls, but...

Maybe it was a case of so many good shots it was too hard to decide.

Well done to the winner and cheers to the couple of members that voted for my effort. As with my artwork - as long as one person can appreciate it, its a job well done.
