Just got home after a nightmare journey back from Amsterdam. Landed at London City airport pretty much on time. Got towards passport control only to see the longest queue I've ever seen there due to this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27225649

Got about 50 people from the front, fire alarm goes off! The whole airport evacuated, there were hundreds of us milling around out on the tarmac amongst the planes...

Got a bad track record on this journey, out of the last 4 trips I've had 2 delays due to aircraft faults, a diversion to Stanstead due to an aircraft fault and 2 train failures at Amsterdam. Oh and a missed approach into City as well. Not a good ratio....

Delays are bad, getting diverted to another airport and seeing the emergency services lined up waiting at the end of the runway was a bit unnerving!

One of my issues when I used to fly for business was why did the significant problems always seem to happen on the way home?

At least the weather was nice. If that had been Edinburgh you would of been soaked as it was lashing it down! Just goes to show how Fcuk'd we would be if hackers managed to bring down vast networks.

At least your home safe but I know not great.

Yep, the guys I was travelling with (who were cursing being on the same flight as me, knowing my track record) were saying there was bound to be a freak thunderstorm any minute....

I always quite the pilot's saying 'any landing you can walk away from is a good one'
