Wife had the jab yesterday. She is just in her 50's but a key/ risk worker. Her and her colleagues all got the jab. She had the Pfizer one. Her boss had a choice the week before of Pfizer or Oxford and went Oxford. She didnt have that choice. Said she feels like having the flu jab today and arm is bit sore. Didn't feel the needle.
Colleagues Mrs is a social worker for the elderly and has now had both the jabs. Same as her colleagues too. She said they all felt a ' bit rubbish' after the second one. First wasn't too bad. I 'believe' it was the Pfizer one, but not 100% on that. All her colleagues felt similar from it, so not just her.
The Mrs must still use her ventilator at work for the next 12 days and not just the standard face mask, due to potential virus mutation if she contracts it in that time. She also got a sticky badge and a virus card.

Guys you misunderstood my use of "undesirables". Not undesirable in my opinion but undesirable to society in general...a drain on resources. I believe that is how the Liberal/Progressive mindset sees such individuals. You may recall when obama was running for his first term when asked about health care for the elderly he said "...just give grandma a pill." Look it up. That my fellow Z drivers is their attitude and that was what I was referring to.
I was trying to say that those types are being categorized as a drain on society. Let them be first in line for the "jab" so we can eliminate them and have a virus to blame it on.

I don't feel that way about any human life, I am pro-life in every sense of the word (with the exception of those who have committed and have been convicted of a capital crime) in those cases I am fully in agreement with the death penalty.

I know you hate it when I use the word "they" but I don't think they simply look at those individuals as at risk. I truly believe that they want to eliminate such people. I know I'm beating a dead horse but there ARE evil people in our world who want all the power they can get their hands on and to those types we are....What was that again Mr. Kissinger? Oh yeah, "useless eaters".
You really ought to see the efforts that out NHS staff are going through to help people of ALL ages, colour or creed.
Some of them are working to near exhaustion and are physically and emotionally drained - none of them see us Oldies as a drain - There aren’t many doctors that would willingly break their Hippocratic oath to fulfil a political whim or ideology. None that I know.

This is why I'm actually so vocal on this topic. I agree, the conversations about preventative therapies and medications have been brushed aside since this whole thing started. Even stirring up 'racism' as a factor as to why the BAME community are being hit, but the knowledge and evidence has been available for some time. It's truly disgusting. Why we can't have an 'out in the open' discussion that says, "look, people with dark skin just need more sunlight. You have a biological make-up that is used to being in warmer climates. Your bodies need more Vitamin D at this time of year than white skinned people". Simple fact, not racism.mgrlane said:

And your comment regards the old people is correct. Go to the ONS website and see the amount of people with Covid in care homes vs in Hospital. Truly shocking. What are they doing there? Surely the care home is the absolute worst place to have a Covid suffering old person?

All this talk about having the first four groups done by mid-Feb sounds really good, and anyone in the next batch of people will be beginning to get excited about getting theirs too.
But so far no-one has pointed out that at the 12-week point, all the first tranche will start coming back for their second jab. Unless the rate of jabbing people steps up substantially, that is not going to leave a huge amount of room for new people to get added in; and I would suspect the limiting factor is most likely to become the vaccine supply.
I know a lot of folk who are planning holidays based on them getting jabbed up by Easter. My words of caution are mostly met with eyes shut, hands over ears and shouting 'la-la-la' very loudly. :roll:
I guess time will tell.
