Only 1 point in it now...

Yep fair enough, my view was wrong.

Lewis was lucky to win as he very nearly ran into the back of the safety car at Copse at one point ! I thought the race itself was dull....again ! In fact it was so gripping that I nodded off for the middle 25 laps or so and missed nowt. So I went outside for some fresh air and ended up detailing my Zed...much more interesting ! :D

Pretty much what happened to me - Although I'd done the car in the morning so I went to do something much more interesting when I woke up - The ironing

Lucky? He won with his engine turned right down for God's sake! The only reason you found it dull was that you probably wern't paying attention to the racing that was going on between the other drivers / cars in the race which was very interesting.

Now I'm no F1 driver, but if I was having trouble deselecting 6th gear, I'd probably be able to work it out for myself, and not use it!! :tumbleweed:

He may well have won with his engine turned right down but you have to agree he was very lucky to get away with this earlier on. https://youtu.be/H7qIAetBTd0
If you take away the incidents and some overtaking that was nearly all as a result of the rain then what was left was DULL...very dull !

I thought that banner was brilliant!

I didn't think the race was boring - Max going around the outside of Nico was fantastic, and all the driver's getting sideways at Copse was entertaining!

I think Lewis just managed it from the front, but the safety car start helped him no end as his standing starts haven't been great recently!

A bit sorry for Nico as the radio advice was offered by the team rather than requested by him, which seems strange as the team were very careful not to tell Lewis what to do in Baku even when he was pushing them for an answer so it probably deserved a penalty. But why can't these penalties be served on the team when it isn't the driver's fault - like with engines, gearbox changes, etc.? Just take points off the manufacturer championship perhaps?

Still IMHO great race, great result!

Slightly off topic, but I enjoyed the pre-race stuff on C4 too - Susie giving the "rented" McLaren the beans, DC putting a hole in it, the cart race at Fernando's track - all entertaining. Really struggle to understand why the BBC sold the rights, but it's their loss - and Suzy Perry's!
