The first rule of installing something from a German company

Is to remember that when they say passenger side, they mean drivers side!

But I do now have a Reinhold roof module installed (after some swearing and only a little blood)

Not heard of this.. Similar to smart top is it?

Pretty much the same, but I think I paid 136 Euros inc postage for it. It does one touch open/close which is what I wanted it for.

Things the smarttop does that the reinhold module doesn't...

Increase Range
Control of windows from fob
Folding mirrors

Also requires a bit more work to install. Other than that its the same.

Doesn't seem hugely different and there's quite a saving however I note the install is far from plug and play and that's worth real money on the smart top as it can be installed and removed quite quickly as its plug and play.

i Had a reinhold on my E85 for many years, but that one needed hard wiring (solder connections) in to the roof operation switch. The nice thing about the Smart top module is that it can be programmed, its not invasive (no loom cutting and splicing and you can switch it off when the car is under warranty and the car needs to go to the dealers. (important when the car is in warranty)

I prefer the smart top, but the reinhold never let me down in 6-7 years of use.
