What is the first car that you bought & paid for out of your own hard earned $$$$

Here's mine....
My first "owned" car was an old Austin A40
something like this one....

I know I'm dating myself.... but it was really old when I bought it :P

In 1962 while in college I purchased myself a 1959 Jag XK 150S... :D :D
My parent went ballistic... :telloff:
They got over it... :)

Wow, it was a 1978 Ford Galaxy that I bought and pimped with all my money, then I couldn't afford to run it any more. Its 8-pot engine would drink so much that I could afford only a trip around the block and back to the garage... :P It was a cool car for an 18 yo though... :D

Sme of those cars, you could literally watch the gas gage moving towards E
 
Bought my first car ( a Lada 1500 Estate ) when I was 16 for £65. It lasted for about 3 months before finally falling apart. Quite a good record for a Lada though, it must have been a good one! This ones not mine but you get the idea........................... I'm not proud!

I wish I did have a picture of it - a 1964 VW Bus I got in 1969 while I was in college. I had stripped out the interior and replaced it with tapestry cloth from India, there was a giant decal of the ZigZag man in the overhead vent , and the front VW logo was replaced with a peace sign.
 
(1976) 1967 MGB-GT - British Racing Green with wire spoke wheels and knock-off hubs! Dual Webbers too!
 
1977 Chevy Caprice Classic, big old boat with a 350 4-barrel, talk about watching the needle move towards E real quick when you got on it :D

I know you guys spend a lot on mods compared to the cost of the car, but I added some neon lights, a "skull" gear knob, knight rider lights in the grill, and some V.V.V.BRIGHT spotlights.... and that lot was probably worth more than the rest of the car...

nevertheless, I loved it.... but some bastard in Hull stole it and burned it.... :cry:
 
The first vehicle I bought for myself was a 1986 Honda scooter which I traded in on a 1987 Kawasaki EX500. That one got totaled in a head on collision with a car so I bought a 1987 Ninja 750 R. I sold that one and bought my dream bike: A 1989 ZX7R! That one got stolen and I bought my first car...a 1990 Isuzu Amigo! 8)
