As a follow up to my original post I'm pretty sure I will go for the op. It might be a Christmas present to myself. I have a couple of outstanding queries waiting for a reply before I book a slot.

The key to success is finding the right surgeon. So take your time to do some research. If you have any queries you can often contact the surgeon through their secretaries and get answers. If you can speak to other people who have used your chosen surgeon that helps. My surgeon was recommended to me by my optician. He had sent his father in law to this guy. Beware of some of the big companies with glossy advertising. Some of them have production line approaches. A friend of mine was offered a very good rate but had real issues when it came to the operation. He sat in a queue of people and moved along a seat at a time until his turn for the operation. There was very little personal care.
