75 mile road trip seems reasonable to qualify.

Anything less and you could easily count a drive to work and back

-Bugger it -that was what i was going to do!

Definatley up for this one. Thus far my Z has never come out the Garage with the roof up. 8) Done 7000 miles this year and I'd estimate > 5000 of those with the roof in the correct position, including all the way up and back to the Lakes for the summer meet, good memories. :driving: Only exception was a trip to Spa, when it heaved down most the way there and back. Good news was my mate was in a Silvia Pheonix, he got wet.

Had mine down yesterday for a 40mile round trip, jeans, T-shirt, cap and shades, Got some classic double takes, it was about 4 degrees and a chilly wind, at a set of lights a pedestrian asked if "are you no f**kin freezin" he was in the full winter atire, Nope I replied, bet I am a lot warmer than you.

LOVE IT :D :D :D

I think almost any trip with the roof down should count, the point being is that you could get the roof down, Fed up hearing "why drive a convertible in this country" when you drive a convertible you appreciate just how much sunshine and clear weather we do actually get.

Used my Z last weekend. Left home at 6:00 on Saturday. -3C, ice everywhere, roof down! 3 hour drive! :)

Sunday had the roof up as the roads were wet. :(

on a serious note, why drive with the roof down if you have to wear hats gloves etc, i really don't get it?
the world is a better place in a convertible when, as has been mentioned, you can see so much more. Spend a day walking round with a letterbox in front of your eyes to get a sense of how driving in a car with a roof feels to me :)

I use mine as a daily driver so i am just looking to record how many days of the year i do get to drive lid less.
In my mind anything that involves going out on the road for a drive that is more than just 50 yards down the road counts, but you guys can decide as you go along. For those who don't use their car as a daily driver perhaps it's a case at looking at opportunity. I wasn't thinking of a competition as such, just a chance for everyone to look at how much use they make of their car. May provide some inspiration for people to put some 'road trip' posts up  :driving:

I'm in too. This is a great idea. Mines a daily driver as well so plan on counting every day I get the roof down. Driving on a crisp cold winters day with the top down, heated seats on, heater blasting at your feet, scarf, gloves and hat is one the absolute joys of having a roadster

AWWWWWWW! no fair, I'm not even able to drive my my Zed for anything up to 270 - 300 days a year as I'm not even in the same country as it, but reckon the roof is down between 30 - 40% of the time when I do get the chance, more if SWMBO is not in the car. :driving:

perhaps the answer is the percentage of days you could drive your car and do with the roof down. For me daily driver basically means i have 365 opportunities, if you don't use the car as an everyday then 52 weekends, holidays etc totalled.
(52 weekends = 104 days off work in a year - is that really possible? I've never had that many days off :( :o )

will be well up for this. I have had the Z for just over a month now and managed 14 days with the roof down so quite proud of that. but will admit it was blooming freezing!!!

Just had a cracking NYD drive across Dundee and Angus. Total miles done was approx 100. Pictures will follow :D just uploading to photobucket, but Internet is only 0.5mbps here in deepest rural Angus, so may take a while....

Anyone else out in their zed today?

EDITED

Apologies for the photo quality, they were done on my iPhone in HDR mode, which blends 3 exposures to give the "best" image - it fails every time and gives each photo a dodgy/hazy look. Also, by the time I'd thrashed a few B roads the car was filthy :( It's getting the full wash treatment and hood cleaned tomorrow :)

Edited whilst photo is in use on the "Where Am I" thread :)

These were on the B9128 Forfar to Carnoustie road. A local favourite of mine

Was a good driving day - plenty of sunshine. Looks like I got home in time too, as the rain is now lashing down

Looks like a lovely drive Adamski - very jealous as it has been raining all day down here since I dragged my a$$ to of bed :x

Still going out for some fun in a bit though :P

i got up to go for a roof down drive as soon as i stepped out off the house the rain came and now it looks like the end of the world out there now

day one = 0

Only bad point is that the roads are awash with salty goo, and mud etc

Will need a few hours work tomorrow to get the zed clean again

A 40 mile trip to the parents yesterday with the roof down. Light rain for half of the journey but not enough to wet the interior. My sister was not amused. Came home in the dark with roof down for half the journey when the heavens opened.
