This was my beautiful Z4. I bought it some years ago from Liverpool, 2015, and had some great fun with it. However, after a year the electrics in the steering column failed. The replacement cost of a new part at the time was over £2500 so given a little help from the forum I converted it to hydraulic. For some reason, I fell out of love with the car and sold her on. She did another 40000 miles, I kept a watch on her until she was rear-ended and declared a write-off, Cat S. I was very surprised to hear she was back on the road again, PL03WJD. I enclose a picture of how she was when I bought her. History has a case of repeating itself and I never forgot the car. So much so I am buying another one on Monday, so fingers crossed I will be posting a picture of my next one, Maldive blue, which I hope to hold on to for a bit longer!

Hopefully you will post your new acquisition in this rather more current Maldives Blue thread

Monday, all being well and the trains running!

Hi all,

My new toy, a 2.5i Maldives blue!

Love everything about it, apart from the classic BMW oil leaks lol.

Can I join the club :-) My 2004 2.2 (wish it was 3.0) is a Maldives blue and you don't see many on the road that's for sure! I don't have a pic yet as I don't want to share until I've had the detailing done as she doesn't look her best right now! It's been a hard winter and with a water ingress issue she's not as clean as she should be! Question....... Where is the best place to get touch up paint for her? I have asked the question in another thread but no reply as yet. I'm guessing you guys are in the know! Thank you in advance.

Hello, welcome to the Exclusive Club Maldives!

There are plenty around if you know where to look. I’ve had four and I’m just down the road from you the other side of Farnham.

I’m pretty sure I have some colour matched Chipex which is surplus to requirements now I’ve sold my car. Alternatively you can get an “official” touch up stick from your BMW dealer. Colour code A15.

Thank you, I will definitely post a pic once she's done. I've only ever seen one driving south down the M3 although I don't do many miles. That's a very kind offer, thank you. I only have a small amount to do so if you need it back I'm happy to send it. I'll PM you my address if that's alright?
