Well after a few months of BMW having my car in for a couple of weeks at a time trying to fault find an intermittent fault, this was from before June, its now fully developed. Hopefully the video and the car misfiring in front of them will allow them to trace the problem once and for all.

I had a simular problem with my 30i turns out it was my ignition coil one of them had not been correctly put back in. And the clip just slipped a bit once it was clipped back down it was all fine try to just give them all a push down to make sure they are secure.

Thanks RoyS.

Its at the dealers now. They have done all of the investigation outside of warranty free so far, and now i see no reason for it to be any different now.

We will see.

Reminds me of the only time i sat in a local BMW waiting area overhearing the service desk.

" Yes sir, we have replaced all the coils, that would have cost you £800, but done under warranty so want cost you anything"......other than the inconvenience.

and

On phone.."Yes sir, you have broken down on the ring road, then call BMW assist...O you only had it serviced yesterday!".
