Just come back from seeing it, I really enjoyed it!!!
When it comes to a film like batman all I want and expect is action, epic music, a bad guy, gadgets and more action. And it had all the above so Im a happy man :-) (o and having Anne Hathaway in a tight outfit doesn't hurt :wink: )

Yet I am not allowed to express a personal opinion on the fact that, based on a constitutional amendment that was made in a time of war more than 200 years ago, when the average american expected the redcoats to be banging on their door any minute, anyone in Colorado can purchase and carry automatic weapons that really belong in a theatre of war. And the good folks of the US who truly abhor this seem powerless to act because of organisations like the NRA and its esteemed membership.

Or that some people get more pissed at the joke than the point behind it (which reflected the same joke that came out after Hungerford for anyone that cares to remember it).

Try watching Michael Moore's 'Columbine' if you have a minute. The university is only 20 miles away from where this latest tragedy occurred. Plus ca change.

Its a shame some people just don't get it.
 
Lacroupade everyone understands the (valid) point you make. It was the crass way you made it that offended people.

Surely you can see that? There are lots of American people on this forum, some of whom, for all you know, may have connections to Aurora.
 
Whilst I agree that the right to keep and bear arms is a fairly antiquated right, that gun ownership in America is very easy and subsequently the taking of a life is as simple as drawing a breath. However stricter gun controls does not prevent the committed sociopath in taking multiple lives by employing other means or obtaining those guns illegally.

Yes stricter gun controls will reduce the number of street deaths, but your rationale in its use to justify a sic joke is what I found to be most abhorrent.
 
Dude its a valid point but you can't be saying s**t like that (making jokes) on an Anglo American forum where a 6 year old is getting killed.......pretty sure she didnt own a gun or support the laws that allow it.

I know you didn't mean anything by it but have a think eh?
 
Oh and the film..........meh. Pretty good but bane was bone.

At some points Bane sounded like a british aristocrat huffing helium. It made some serious moments humourous when they shouldn't have been.

I know they have to keep it 12a to reach a wider audience and make $$'s, but i thought it could've gone alot darker/bloodier/grittier which would've made a better film IMO.

Some tenous plot points, it dragged a bit in the middle but i'd give it 8/10 and would still happily watch it again.

Looking forward to Dredd, Total recall and Ted now.

Went to see it this afternoon, excellent finish to Nolan's trilogy. Really enjoyed it, but now I'm wanting to go back and watch Batman Begins to remember what mischief Liam Neeson was up to again...

So what are the chances the studio will want to milk it for more cash and make something now involving -
Batman, Robin and/or Catwoman, or John/Robin Blake as a new Batman (Batman's a symbol not a man after all....)

Or can they do the decent thing, admit they've made a superb trilogy and leave it at that?
