Had a similar experience a few years ago in an Asda car park, was driving an old Rover at the time ( i can hear you laughing) quickly nipped in to get a few bits, my Daughter decided she wanted to stay in the car, when i returned she told me that an old man had reversed into the car leaving a slight dent in the bumber, he apparently got out looked at his own car, saw my daughter and put his finger to his lips to indicate to be quiet, My Daughter smiled and jotted down his reg. i called the police when i got home, it was not the fact that he had improved the looks of the car but just the point he thought he could get away with it. anyway the police paid him a visit to discover he was the only carer for his terminally ill wife of 75 and had been in a rush with some meds he had picked up at asda for her. the police woman made me feel like a right twat. needles to say i did not persue the matter.

I wouldnt give 2 hoots what his reason was. If he had time to get out of his car, check HIS car for damage, and then drive off without leaving a note or even asking your daughter to pass on an apology! I'd want the damage sorted by him or his insurance.

What can i say, He got a big enough fright with the police turning up at his door, Trust me if it had been the Zed then i would have persued it all the way, but remeber this was an old rover and one more dent wasnt going to make all that much of a differnce. I'm just an old softy at heart, just felt for the old guy as his wife was dying.
