The Coupe journey so far - New wheels fitted

Hey,

So I got my E86 in December, but unfortunately hit another car whilst there was heavy rainfall just before Christmas. Took me a few months to find all the parts at a reasonable price second hand but got there in the end:

Took the bumper off to see exactly what was needed, and the remaining parts of the headlight fell apart in my hands, so drove around like this for a while:

Well I got it back from the bodyshop and decided to get the number plate holder taken off and have the lower and kidney grills painted gloss black:

Went out with a friend of mine to take some moving shots with his rig, in doing so, managed to crack my windscreen with a suction cup.

Once it was repaired through the insurance, I managed to fit a few parts I had bought:

Storm Motorworks V1 gear stick
Polished exhausts tips
6000K HID's/Sidelights

Currently looking for some new wheels and lowering springs, but don't want to do too much. Ring trip is booked for 1st May 14, really love driving it!

Congrats on getting her up n running again, bet it was heartbreaking having a knock so soon after buying!
 
Congratulations on the mods, looks great!

Interlagos can be a difficult colour to capture in photos (just like my Silver Grey) but those pics really do justice to your beast!

I also have the Stormworks knob and aluminium interior, a combination which not only looks good but really improved shift feel. The gear stick goes right to the top of the knob so the throw is much shorter, and since the knob itself is 500g, each change feels very positive.

I know the ZHP is the popular choice and has the OEM look but I love the look and precision feel of the Stormworks, the ZHP is very light in weight in comparison, so I figured it would not make the improvement I wanted.

How do you find gearchanges now? Dix you notice much improvement?

I also fitted a clutch stop a week after the Stormworks to improve things yet further (this MUST be the cheapest and most effective mod for the Z4M!)...CDV delete to follow and I will have a perfect gearchange!

Thanks for the comments guys! Regarding the gear knob, its overall an improvement. The feel in you hand is great and with it being short, the weight helps you through the gears. Good improvement when your driving quickly as it gives you more confidence.

Have you considered some minimal spacers too?
Maybe 5-8mm?
