Seems to be a lot of people complaining about harsh and uncomfortable ride quality in the Zed.

I think I've achieved a very comfortable set up, mines a daily driver so comfort is a priority:

1. Do not go for the 'Sport' model, suspension too harsh.
2. Do not go for wheels any larger than 18 inch
3. Ditch the runflats
4. Leave the standard ride height as it is, unless you like getting your lip resprayed constantly.

Any one else want to add their experience to the list?

Of course if your Zed is for ultimate weekend fun...knock yerselves out!
 
Don't get the /m seats. Great support for in the corners, but small and hars on long motorway drives.
At least if you're looking for a cumfy cruiser. (maybe buy an e89, that's even more of a cruiser)
 
I feel like part of the discomfort comes from the seats not being able to hold too well in the corners, so I would say the ///M seats would be better for their side bolster support

For sure after owning 2 3.0i's the M has the better ride... :driving:
 
Meh, I don't get this harsh and uncomfortable ride thing.. it's a sports car not a floaty boat cruiser :(

I actually enjoy the harshness of the ride, it's why I bought the car but granted i didn't buy it as a daily commuter.
 
I'd advise you up the tire aspect ratio.
My snow tires are Michelin 225 45 18 and are much more comfortable than the summer staggered sizes.

16-17" wheels would be most comfortable. Rubber suspension bushes are more comfortable than polyurethane.
My car has stock m-sport suspension and 18" wheels. It not bad, but i cant really describe it "comfortable".
 
I found the same with the higher side walls on my winter tyres - 40 instead of 35 at the rear and 45 instead of 40 at the front has made a noticeable difference. :thumbsup:

The comfort of the seat might be proportional to the size of your rear (your rear not the Zed's!). If I put on weight the ///M sport seat side bolsters make it tight on my thighs and rear! :oops: Having tried them, the SE seats seem luxurious in comparison (but they lack the side bolsters to hold you in place). Good way to encourage weight loss and keep your weight down. :D

Some sports cars do seem to be able to offer flat corners and good bump absorption. . . . :?

I don't find my Z4MC 'uncomfortable' per se, but I did find the ride a little harsh on the 19" PS2s & CSLs when on bumpy B-roads.

On smooth tarmac it was fine, and I've no problem doing 250 miles in one go, nor do I find driving down to Spain or Germany tiring.

Although saying that, I'd never claim it was a comfy as an e34 M5 :P
 
i find i have developed a pain down the back of my left bum cheek/back of left leg (similar to sciatica symptoms i have heard.... not claiming i have sciatica tho lol) which ive never had before and only get when driving? maybe its the lower seat position crossed with the sports seats (fair bit different to my previous car.... a Corsa C hahaha)
 
If you have standard suspension i would say go for M profile tyres too..

I find the biggest detrimental impact to comfort not the right height to be fair its the wheels tyres....

Going from 18's-19's on any car make it noiser, tramline and harsher.. but they do look cool 8)
