The BMW Show - Santa Pod 19th September

Just spoke to Nick - looks like we will try to meet at Toddington services around 8:45-9am (time tbc).

Enjoyed the trip and meeting putting faces to a few more names
Adam, Chris, Nick, Ed.

Drab start and a cool wind but stayed dry and made for a good day to see so many BMW on and off the strip,

Will try to get some photos up when I get a moment.

I ended up showing my Z in the show and shine section as people said it was the only E89 there...but what the Frick was the show without Any Z4's there? I only saw your two in the car park!

I saw Adam and Phil, but no one else :o We should of organized a stand, and next year its a must if people are going. Least it gives people a meeting place.

Saw a titan silver with an Z4M bumper behind mine in the car park! Could not believe it, so is it anyones on here?

Good to see Adam and Phil though

Was good to meet some fellow zedders, was kinda expecting a few more turnout but spotted a few Z4M's around the various parking places and stands.

Did anyone see a Z4 run down the strip, Nick do you take yours down the strip in the end? - we lost you somehow in the few minutes between parking up and getting out the cars! The 135's seemed to be on pace with the E46 M3's.

Ps. I've asked santa for a jet funny car  :driving:

The queue for the drag was too long by the time it got to waiting ton leave...got the car very clean and lots of people came to look at it.....agree that we should get our own stand next year.....

Here's how my day out to Santa pod went, in picture format.

quite, quite, gutted, as I'd even paid in advance!
instead, I got as far as Leicester, and ended up being forced to buy a new front runflat tyre, at a stupid price to boot.
Gah!

(some images stolen from google results)

a very rough nights sleep thanks to the twats in the field around us put a dampener on things for us. Think
I spotted nickm in your White z? We were parked in the camping field facing the road near the dodgems. Saw some of the other cars but we didn't hang about for long. Wasnt a particularly good atmosphere I felt but that might have been coloured by the previous nights goings on around us.

Fights kicking off, thefts!, chavs finding their gas pedal and limiter at 2am and other things going on that I can't even mention.

Yeah was a pretty good show, glad I got to see Phil and Adam? at the end! Was a bit gutted when I saw the tiny RWYB queue, but with that headwind would've had no chance of beating my PB of 13.97 @ 99.5mph! Was nice to just watch though, lots of rapid cars there (but too many with bad drivers and traction crontrol users hehe ;))

Sorry to hear your night went wrong. Sometimes chavs ruin things after a few too many beers

SK - wondered where you had gone - bad luck mate.

Nick - wondered what happened to you. We all parked together and within 30 seconds you car was empty and we never saw you again??

Well i turned up at about 1030 and with Mr S and 2 x Kids and could not believe how cold it was compared to 18 in Southampton all day?? Took the 130M and i must say i was pretty disapionted by the trade stands and displays. Must be getting old as seemed alot of chavs??135's impressed me mind??

Chris,
The Z4 is looking good with the Z4M alloys and carbon BMW badges. Looked out for you and playistic but i think packed up and gone by the time I 135m impressed me mind. drove over to tents.
Next year we should have our own display!!

I was quite amazed at the sheer amount of hoodies today!! And the lack of hair on peoples heads!

Playalistic - Sorry to hear about your camping woes :( usually happens at car shows. Once was at 'Donny' a few years ago... Woken up one morning by the distinctively farty noise of some muppet donuting an old banged up Scoob WRX. He lost control and the thing mowed down a tent at 8am... Thank god it was one of the very few early risers and not some poor soul sleeping. Almost had a heart attack that day!

That M3 drift car (stupid light blue one) was bloody awful. I could have done a better job than him. When he crashed into the concrete I was standing right there next to it so must have been in the vicinity when that photo was taken! The E30 had a 4.5 V8, he was pretty good. I had to laugh when the huge barge came out to drift (7 series) and all the other drifters got off the track sharpish!

Sorry I didn't make more effort to meet up with everyone, we were tired and freezing!

Wow, some weather difference with down south. Seeing it all, I am actually glad I did not go there ...
