The August 2012 Photo Competition - COMMENTS

Nobody is reading the theme for this month in the text intro, are they :wink:
 
Just wondering: has it been considered to use 2 different categories for the same competition? For example a photoshop category only and a non-shopped picture category only (ok, allowing changing the sharpness etc but not adding things that aren't there)? I might just be re-inventing the wheel here, but I always learned to ask questions when you have any :roll:

I would honestly love to see some real good photoshop entries. A Z4 star wars version for example? :P

Yes, the conversation was had and it got quite heated... The themed contest was the compromise IIRC

Some photoshoppers forgot adding a sunset/sunrise :fuelfire:
 
:oops: didn't relise there was a theme for this month but happy to remove the pic and then use it for a themed month with flowers. :thumbsup:
 
Thanks, Stuart Truman. The keyboard player from Deep Purple, Jon Lord, died recently and in my youth I particularly like the album Stormbringer. It had a great album cover (anyone else remember album covers?) of a dramatic, stormy sky. This image is in memory of the great man. And, yes, just a small amount of photohop has been used...

It's not been great weather so far for sunrise or sunset pictures, hopefully the weather will improve over the next couple of weeks.

Yeah, the pre-requisite for both sunrise and sunset has been sorely lacking this August...! Photoshop here we come! :D
 
have to excuse myself
took the wrong database for the pic, so i did not appear in this forum
started a new attempt using photobucket as a database and looks like the pic can be seen now

Your picture is fine as it is clearly using early morning light... :thumbsup:

The interesting part would be the cries from those that have lobbied for a month of "No Photoshopped" contest...
 
Can I just clarify something (without going into the photoshop thing again)?

Jackers' picture. Have you added the lightning onto the pic or did you take the photo with your zed there and managed to capture your zed and the lightning all at the same time?

What I'm asking is this; I've got some cracking pics of sunsets without my zed in the picture. If we are allowed to photoshop and/or add things on can we add our car onto a picture we've taken as a layer and creating a new picture?

It's very confusing this photoshopping lark.
