The 5df0 5df1 ABS/Traction/DSC - your experience

I had first one light, then all three lights on our 330 Ci Coupe. It was an ABS sensor.
Change the cheapest first and all that...

Car currently at Indy with this fault, unit was removed on Monday and has been sent off for repair. I would expect a part that costs >£1600 to be more reliable than the 60k its done!! Also why hasn't BMW brought out a repair kit for this model as they have done on the e46?

Today I got the bad news that ABS/DCS pump requires replacing, quoted 2k plus fitting, reading the thread it appears the best option is to remove the unit and send it to ECU Testing for repair. Please can anyone advise if the brakes can be bleed without using the lap top and software to start the pump? can a simple auto bleeder be used?? or the old fasion press the pedal and tighten the bleed nipple

I've just had these 3 lights come on whilst sat in traffic today. They went away after parking the car for a couple of hours but came back on during the journey back home.

Where are the abs sensors located as the roads were pretty filthy today so want to rule out dirty sensors before worrying about the pump!

I also checked my battery voltage as it doesn't get used too much. At rest its around 12v dipping to just above 9v under load at startup so I'm guessing it may be worth changing the battery also? It looks like the original BMW battery and the window is 'black'.

I would definitely take a look at the sensors first. I had all 3 lights plus Tyre Pressure plus no speedo and this indicated a nsr abs/speed sensor. I went to bavariandominator.co.uk and purchased their sensor for £20 delivered. It's the same sensor for both rears and they also do the fronts for about the same price. The fronts are handed. You could swap all four for £80 and this would take about 2 hours in total - all very DIY-able with a great YouTube video from Andrew Litt. PS - mine didn't look particularly dirty and I didn't think it was worth cleaning it up and refitting when the replacement only cost £20. Lights went out after approx. 50 metres.
